Compared to the regular Infinix Hot 50 Pro (X6881), the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ (X6880) selling points are its attractive design and higher megapixel front-facing camera. Otherwise the phone has the same specs as the regular Pro model. Even, the Hot 50 Pro+ lacks the 3.5mm audio jack found on the regular Pro.

And among the similarly priced phones, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ stands out with its unique and attractive design. It's also equipped with a decent camera and supports reverse wired charging. The phone also powered by a recently unveiled CPU. However, the CPU has the same processing power as the one inside the competition. The phone's Android version, storage space and most other features are also similar to those of the competition.

Design Colour And Price:
The Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ is available various colour options of Dreamy Purple, Titanium Grey, and Sleek Black. Currently, the starting price of the phone is about 260,000 Naira.

The Competing Phones:
Although the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G is less cheaper than the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ 4G, the standard version of the phone attracts the same price as the base version of the Infinix phone. And both of them feature the same amount of RAM and inbuilt storage space.
However, because the Note 14 4G has a regular flat screen, it looks less a little appealing than the Hot 50 Pro+ 4G. Photos taken with the Redmi phone also look a little less true to life. The Redmi phone also features a slightly older CPU. However, the CPU packs the same processing power as the one inside the Infinix phone. In short, their performances are similar.
Furthermore, the Redmi Note 14 4G is running on the same Android version as the Infinix phone. Even, Redmi assures buyers of longer OS updates. The Redmi phone also includes a 3.5mm audio jack and equipped with a bigger battery. Yet, the phone has the same charging speed as the Hot 50 Pro+.
Also like the infinix phone, the Redmi Note 14 4G comes with an under-display fingerprint reader and sereo speaker. It also has the same high screen refresh rate as the Hot 50 Pro+.

Like the Redmi Note 14 4G, the Samsung Galaxy A16 4G attracts a little lower price than the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+. The amount of RAM and internal storage space of the Samsung phone are also smaller. The phone also powered by the same CPU that's inside the Redmi Note 14 4G.
However, despite running on the same Android version as both of the Infinix and Redmi phones, the Samsung phone also offers a much longer years of OS updates. The Samsung's custom UI is also more cleaner. Photos taken with the Galaxy A16 4G also look a little more life-like than the ones from the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+. In other words, the Samsung phone has the best looking photos among three phones.

However, as a result of its notched display, Galaxy A16 4G looks less attractive than the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ and Redmi Note 14 4G (which features a hole-punch camera). Still, the phone has good build quality and looks premium. The phone's display also has a slightly better colour reproduction than the ones on the Infinix and Redmi phones. However, its high screen refresh rate is lower.
Also as opposed to the under-display fingerprint-reader and dual speaker of the Infinix and Redmi phones, the Galaxy A16 4G features a regular side-mounted fingerprint reader and a mono speak. The charging speed of the phone is also lower than those of its rivals. Yet, it has a standard battery like the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+. And it also lacks a 3.5mm audio jack. Also, typical of a Samsung phone, the Galaxy A16 doesn't come with a charger.

A Unique And Attractive Design:
The Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ has a unique and attractive design. It sports a 6.78-inch edge to edge (or curved) display. The left and right edges of its rear panel are also slightly curved. Which enables the phone to fit into your hand easily, despite its big size. The phone is surprisingly light too, about 162g. And it also has an impressive slim frame of 6.8mm. Despite its light weight and thin frame, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ is closely sealed together and has good build quality. Its curved display is protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass. And the phone is IP54 (Dust and Water Splash resistant) certified.

On the back of the phone is an elongated vertically placed camera bump. And there are three little square-shape modules inside the bump. The three modules are the three back cameras of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+. The LED Flash is placed right outside the elongated bump.
As i said, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ lacks the traditional 3.5mm audio jack. But the remaining ports and connectivity are similar to those of the competition and most of other budget phones.
You have the volume keys and power button on the left side of the phone. By the way, because the Hot 50 Pro+ features an optical under display fingerprint reader, there's no side-mounted fingerprint reader for the phone.
On its bottom side is a 3-in-1 (for 2 nano-SIM+1 microSD card) SIM tray, a microphone, a USB Type-C port, and a speaker. Because the phone comes with two speakers, the second one is located on the top side. And right beside the second speaker is a noise cancelling or second microphone.

Good Camera:
The triple rear camera setup of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ comprises a 50MP Main sensor, a 2MP Depth sensor (for portrait photos or photos with blur backgrounds) and an 0.8MP Auxiliary sensor. The phone's front-facing camera features a 13MP lens.
By default, the main rear sensor captures photos at 12MP mode. And photos look quite alright. Although when switched to 50MP mode, photos are more detailed, still the difference between the photos from the two modes is not night and day.

Generally, photos taken with the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ rear camera look good. Photos are clear, noticeably detailed and have good colour rendition. Dynamic range also look decent. Portrait shots also have good subject detection and background blurring effects.
The camera also did a decent job when it comes to low light photos. whether in normal or dedicated Super Night mode.

Selfies taken with the Hot 50 Pro+ front-facing camera are also clear, detailed, and have good colour reproduction. Although the selfies colours are not impressively rich, they are close to real life. And skin tone looks good. Dynamic range and portrait selfies also look good.
Meanwhile, with it main rear sensor, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ can shoot videos up to 2K at 30fps (frame per second). And among the competing phones, it is the only one that's capable of shooting up to 2K.

A Crisp And Vibrant Curved Display:
The 6.78-inch curved display of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ has an AMOLED panel. And it features a 1080p resolution of 2436-by-1080 pixels (or 393ppi pixel density). The display support 120Hz high screen refresh rate (for smoother gaming, page scrolling and swiping). However, there's no 90Hz refresh rate option. In other words, you can either choose the 120Hz option or go back to the default 60Hz. Though there's a Automatic refresh rate option. Which adjusts the screen refresh rates based on what you are doing.

The Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ display is sharp and clear. And it has a nice reproduction. Colours are rich and vibrant. The screen is impressively bright too. With manual slider, the peak brightness is about 600nit. And with that, the screen is noticeably bright in most lighting conditions. Yet in Auto mode, the peak brightness can still go up 1200nit. Which makes the screen to be viewable under direct sunlight.

When compared to those of the competition, the Auto peak brightness of the Infinix phone display slightly falls below that of the Redmi Note 14 4G. But with manual slider, the Infinix brightness outshines the Redmi's a little. Also when compared to the one on the Galaxy A16 4G, display of the Infinix phone is more brighter, whether in Auto or with manual slider.
However, the Samsung's display offers higher contrast level than both of the Infinix and Redmi phones' displays. Which makes the Samsung display to also looks vibrant under direct sunlight, despite its perceived lower peak brightness. The Super AMOLED display of the Samsung phone also has a better colour reproduction than the AMOLED displays of both of the Hot 50 Pro+ and Note 14 4G.

By the way, and like the ones on the Galaxy and Redmi phones, the curved display of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ lacks support for and is unable to display HDR contents. Notwithstanding, the display supports Widevine L1 DRM certification. Meaning, you can watch videos in "1080p or High Definitions" (and in improved colour reproduction) on streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Software And Hardware:
The Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ is pre-installed with the latest HiOS 14.5 custom UI; running on top of Android 14 OS. But while Redmi and Samsung offer more than two years of OS updates for their respective devices, the Hot 50 Pro+ comes with an assurance of just one year of OS updates.
Nonetheless, the Infinix phone is powered by a recently unveiled CPU. In detail, and while both of the Note 14 4G and Galaxy A16 4G are fitted with the familiar Helio G99 CPU, the Hot 50 Pro+ features a recently introduced Helio G100 CPU.
However, in addition to the fact that the new CPU is also a MediaTek chipset, it's also a 6nm octa-core processor with the same clock speeds of up to 2.2Ghz as the Helio G99. The new CPU also features the same Mali-G57 MC2 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). In other words, the Helio G100 packs the same processing and GPU powers as the Helio G99.

As a result of their identical processing powers, the performance of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ is similar to those of the two competing phones. Also like the competition, the Infinix phone is available in 128GB and 256GB of internal storage space options. Both of the storage options can also expanded, via microSD card, up to 1TB (One Terabyte). However, the Infinix phone comes in only one RAM option of 8GB, while the competing phones have about three RAM options to choose from.

Meanwhile, as i mentioned earlier, the performance of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ is similar to those of the competition. Generally, because the Helio G100 is a mid-range gaming chipset, the phone handles day to day usage without stress. It is smooth, responsive and multitasks quickly. Running through social media Apps and streaming High Definition videos is a pleasant experience on this phone. The phone also played most of the regular games without issue. But as expected, when it comes to graphics demanding ones, you need to reduce Frame rates or graphics settings (depending on the type of game). To ensure consistent smoothness or lag free gaming.

Standard Battery Capacity, Yet Reverse Wired Charging:

The Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ has a 5,000mAh battery. Which is also what you get on the Samsung Galaxy A16 4G. But the Redmi Note 14 4G packs a slightly bigger 5,500mAh battery. Still, like the Redmi phone, the Hot 50 Pro+ features 33W quick charging and comes with a 33W charger in its box. On the other hand, and unlike the Infinix and Redmi phones, the Galaxy A16 4G doesn't come with a charger, and it also features a slightly lower charging speed of 25W.

Meanwhile, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ supports Reverse Wired charging. But this feature is missing on both of the Redmi and Samsung phones. The Reverse Wired charging enables the Hot 50 Pro+ to serves as a Power Bank, i.e, to charge another phone or similar devices. But the Reverse wired charging speed is slower than normal charging speed.
And with its out of the box 33W charger, it'll take you a little less than 1hr 20mins to fully charged the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ from zero percent.
It should be noted that in terms of battery life, the Redmi Note 14 4G (with bigger battery) outshines the Infinix phone. Also despite having the same battery capacity as the Hot 50 Pro+, the Galaxy A16 4G battery life is a little better than that of the Infinix.Which is as result of the Samsung's more optimized custom UI. Notwithstanding, the margin in their battery lives are not that wide.
