As a result of its flat edges, flat back cover and lack of rear camera bump, Infinix Hot 30 (X6831) wear the familiar sleek looks that's common among many recent phones. Apart from the looks, Infinix Hot 30 also has a few things in common with many of the competitions. Nonetheless, the phone still looks more premium classier and present the buyers with some features that are rare at this price point. For instance, Infinix Hot 30 is fitted with a big, nice-looking 90hz display. The phone also features an impressive camera, higher RAM, better CPU and higher fast charging.

By the way, Infinix Hot 30 is the successor to the last year's Infinix Hot 20 (X6826). And it's also the standard and most equipped variant of the recently unveiled Infinix Hot 30 series. In addition to the Hot 30, there is also the less affordable Infinix Hot 30 Play (X6835B) and the least equipped Infinix Hot 30i (X669).
All the three variants of the Hot 30, i.e., the standard variant Infinix Hot 30, Infinix Hot 30 Play and Infinix Hot 30i, wear similar premium looks. Yet, each of them has its own distinct attributes; which helps in differentiating it from the rest.
Basically, and compared to the other two, the least expensive Infinix Hot 30i has a slightly smaller size. The screen of the phone also spots a drop notch, while those of other two feature Infinity-O or camera cut-outs. Yet, all the three displays support 90hz (high) screen refresh rate.

Infinix Hot 30i is also equipped with a less powerful CPU, lower RAM, and lower megapixel rear camera, compared to its two siblings. On the other hand, Infinix Hot 30 Play is fitted with a bigger battery and a slightly bigger display than the standard variant Hot 30. But the display of the standard variant Hot 30 has an higher (1080p) resolution and it also look slightly more attractive. Infinix Hot 30 also features a more powerful CPU, higher megapixel rear camera and a faster charging speed than the Hot 30 Play. Nonetheless, the rest of the Hot 30 features, including front-facing camera, amount of RAM and storage capacity, remain as those of the Hot 30 Play.

Meanwhile, due to its flat edges, flat back cover and a similar Infinity-O display, Infinix Hot 30 wear the same sleek looks as the earlier Hot 20. But unlike that of the earlier phone that's plain, the back cover of the latest phone is decorated with reflective stripes. The circular camera modules on the latest phone also look more elegant.
And those little changes make the back of the Hot 30 to look more premium and classier than that of the earlier Hot 20.
In addition to those ones, Infinix Hot 30 also has a minute smaller 6.78-inch display, compared to the the 6.82-inch display of the Hot 20. Yet, the latest screen maintain the 90hz (high) refresh rate of the earlier one. Even, compared to the 720p resolution of the earlier one, the screen of the Hot 30 features a 1080p resolution. The screen also looks more punchier and has better colours reproduction. In fact, when it comes to colour gamut and vibrant picture, the screen of the Hot 30 stands out among others, at this price point.

The camera setup on the Infinix Hot 30 remain as that of its predecessor. Because the latest phone also has a 50-megapixel dual rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Also like the ones from the earlier phone, photos taken with the main rear camera of the Infinix Hot 30 look impressive. Photos are surprisingly clear and detailed. Colours also look nice and moderate.
Selfies from the front-facing camera are also clear, sharp and detailed. Selfies also has nice colour representation. though skin tone looks slightly less accurate. Still, the selfies look good.
And at this price point, Infinix Hot 30 is one of the few phones that offer this type of decent cameras.

Under the hood, Infinix Hot 30 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 CPU; a slight upgrade from the Helio G85 on the earlier phone. This phone is also equipped with an higher RAM of 8GB (compared to the Hot 20's maximum 6GB of RAM). Infinix Hot 30 is also running on the latest Android 13 OS, with the latest version of Infinix XOS custom UI on top.
Performance-wise, Infinix Hot 30 is quick and responsive. It multi-tasks quickly and handles graphics demanding games with little effort. Yet, the phone performance can still be boosted through MemFusion or RAM Virtualization. The feature that enable you to convert certain amount, out of the phone's inbuilt storage space, to Virtual RAM.
Also, despite that Infinix Hot 30 also features 128GB internal storage space like the earlier model, the latest phone is still available in higher storage option of 256GB. And the inbuilt storage capacity can still be expanded via microSD card.

Nonetheless, and apart from having 128GB base storage as the earlier model, virtually, all the rest of the Hot 30 features remain as those of the Hot 20. For instance, the latest phone also features NFC and retain the dual speaker of the earlier phone. The stereo speaker also has decent audio quality.
Furthermore, Infinix Hot 30 also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, USB Type-C port and 5000mAh battery. However, the 18W fast charging of the earlier Hot 20 has been increased to 33W on the Hot 30. This enables you to charge the latest phone's battery from 0 to 50 percent in about thirty-three minutes.

Price And Design Colours:
Currently, Infinix Hot 30 starting price is around 132,000 Naira. And it's available in design colour options of Racing Black, Surfing Green, Sonic White, and Free Fire.

Tecno Spark 10 Pro Is An Identical Contender:
Tecno Spark 10 Pro (ki7) is technically the same phone as the Hot 30. In fact, the main difference between the two lies in their selfies cameras and fast charging rates. Unlike the Hot 30 that has an 8-megapixel front camera, the Tecno phone has a clearer 32-megapixel front camera. But compared to the Infinix phone's 33W fast charging, Spark 10 Pro features the usual 18W fast charging. In addition to its higher fast charging rate, the Infinix phone also comes with dual speaker.
Except for those ones, all other attributes of the Hot 30, including the stunning display, are exactly like those of the Spark 10 Pro.

DESIGN: Familiar Sleek Looks, Yet, Looks And Feels More Premium:
Though Infinix Hot 30 wear the sleek looks (flat back and flat edges) that's common among most of the recent Android phones, yet the phone looks more premium and flatter (8.4mm) than many of them. And despite that it chassis and back cover are also made of plastics, it has a better build quality and appear all-glassy.

And to set the phone apart from its predecessor, its siblings, and others that has similar design, Infinix adorned the back of the Hot 30 with a few reflective curved stripes. And the stripes blend with the phone's glossy back cover.
Though Infinix Hot 30 also has a pair of vertical stacked circular camera module like its predecessor, but the latest phone doesn't have a camera bump. Also the LED Flash, which was placed in-between the earlier phone's dual cameras, has been moved forwards a little (towards the right side). Due to these few changes, Infinix Hot 30 wear a more elegant and premium looks than the earlier model, and many of its competitions.

Arrangements of ports and buttons still remain the same. On the right edge of the phone is the volume keys and power button (which also doubles as a fingerprint reader). And on the left edge is its 4G dual nano-SIM+microSD card slot. The phone's 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB Type-C port and first speaker are placed on the bottom edge. Infinix Hot 30 second speaker is placed above the front-facing camera. And there's nothing on the top edge of the phone.

Impressive Cameras:
Just like the one on the Infinix Hot 20, the dual rear camera of the Infinix Hot 30 is made up of a 50-megapixel (f/1.6) main sensor and a QVGA or AI (f/2.5) sensor (Which assists the main camera in delivering clearer and better looking shots).
And like that of its predecessor, the main rear camera of the Hot 30 was able to maintain a consistent nice looking photos. Photos are clear, detailed and have good contrast. The shots also have good colour representation. Colours look nice and moderate; neither saturated nor over-blown (though HDR doesn't look good enough).
Furthermore, the Night Mode shots from this phone are slightly clearer than the ones from the earlier model. Though, the Night Mode shots are still not clear enough, but they look okay.

Also like that of the Hot 20, the front-facing camera of the Infinix Hot 30 was able to take a nice looking selfies. And compared to those of others (in this segment) with a similar 8-megapixel front-facing cameras, selfies from the Hot 30 are slightly brighter, clearer and more detailed. Selfie also have nice colour representation. Though, skin tone also look nice, yet, as i mentioned before, it's not that accurate. Nonetheless, and generally speaking, selfies from the Hot 30 look quite okay.

For a phone at this price point, photos taken with the Infinix Hot 30 really look good. And despite that there are other more expensive phones with better main rear sensors and that were able to take a more detailed photos, yet, in terms of clarity and colours representation, the rear camera of the Hot 30 did a nice job.
By the way, the video recording for the front camera of the Infinix Hot 30 is capped at 1080p at 30fps (frame per second), but the phone's rear camera can shoot up to 2K at 30fps. And there's no Image Stabilization.

Nice Looking 6.78" 90hz 1080p Display:
The 1080p (or Full-HD+) resolution of the Hot 30 screen is made up of 2460-by-1080 pixels. In other words the screen has an high pixel density (or sharpness) of 396ppi. Also, apart from supporting 90hz refresh rate (for smoother gaming, page scrolling and swiping), the screen of the Hot 30 also features 270hz Touch Sampling rate; which means the screen is highly responsive to touch.

Before the phone's camera, the first selling point of the Infinity Hot 30 is its attractive display. This screen looks sharp, clear and vivid. Colours are also rich and look vibrant. If not for its white balance, which has a slight bluish tinge; a peculiar thing to the typical IPS-LCD panels, the screen of the Hot 30 can be easily mistaken for an AMOLED panel. Even, among the competitions that offer similar IPS-LCD or PLS LCD displays, the screen of the Hot 30 stands out, especially in terms of colour reproduction or gamut.
However, for a screen brightness that can go as high as 580nit max (according to Infinix), the peak brightness level of the Hot 30 screen falls below expectation in practice. This doesn't mean that the screen is not bright enough for outdoor usage.
Note: As i mentioned earlier, the screen of the Infinix Hot 30 looks exactly like that of the Spark 10 Pro.

Similar CPU, But Higher RAM And Latest Software:
Out-of-the-box, Infinix Hot 30 is pre-installed with the latest Android 13 OS and the recent XOS 12.6 Infinix custom UI. However, despite that the Helio G88 CPU (that powered this phone) sounds better than the Helio G85 that came with the Hot 20, both of them packed the same processing and graphics power.
Yet, because the CPU is still a mid-range gaming processor like the earlier one, Infinix Hot 30 was able to handle more demanding tasks smoothly on the Android 13. For instance, this phone handled high definition video streaming and heavy internet browsing without any issue.
Also, due to its higher RAM, Infinix Hot 30 was more responsive and multi-tasks quickly than its predecessor.
Also, the phone was able play a large number of graphics demanding games at High Frame Rate, though in some cases, Graphics settings has to be dropped to HD or Medium, to maintain a consistent lag-free gaming.

Same Battery, But Higher Quick Charging:
Like its predecessor, Infinix Hot 30 has a 5000mAh battery and a USB Type-C port. But higher than the earlier phone's 18W fast charging, the latest phone offers a 33W fast charging. As a result, and with its out-of-the-box 33W charger, it took Infinix Hot 30 shorter time of about one hour eighteen minutes to fully charged its battery from zero percent, compared to the one hour forty eight minutes of the earlier phone.
