This is the standard variant of the Infinix Note 12 series. And it's also the successor to the Infinix Note 11 (X663). Others, in the latest series, are Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G (X671B), Infinix Note 12 Pro, Infinix Note 12 VIP (X672), Infinix Note 12 G96 (X670), and Infinix Note 12i (X6819).

Read more about their differences and unique features here: Differences Between Note 12 VIP, Note 12 G96, Note 12 G88, and Note 12i.

Meanwhile, besides wearing the same looks, Infinix Note 12 G88 also retain the size and aspect ratio of the earlier Infinix Note 11. The phone also maintain the flat edges of the earlier one.
Infinix Note 12 G88 also features an identical 6.7-inch U-shape notched AMOLED display. The screen also features 1080p resolution and lack high refresh rate like the earlier one.
Still, despite having the same screen attributes as the earlier one, the display of the Note 12 G88 is a little brighter and slightly more vivid.

Apart from its front, the back of the Note 12 G88 also looks exactly like that of the earlier model. The phone is mounted with a similar camera module. And the cameras are also arranged in a similar manner, (inside the module).
The Infinix Note 12 G88 also comes with a 50-megapixel triple rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera. Photos from the cameras also retain the clarity and nice colours of the earlier ones.

Under the hood, Note 12 G88 also features the same Android OS, CPU,  amount of RAM and storage space as the earlier phone. Unlike the earlier model, however, Note 12 G88 comes with MemFusion.
In details, Infinix Note 12 is fitted with the Helio G88 CPU, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and 128GB internal storage space like the earlier phone.
Also while the rest of the Infinix Note 12 variants, including the least equipped Infinix Note 12i, are running on the Android 12 OS, Infinx Note 12 G88 is the only one among them that comes with Android 11 OS like the earlier Note 11.

Still, Note 12 G88 is running the previous Android OS wth latest version (10.0) of Infinix XOS custom UI on top. And as i mentioned earlier, Infinix Note 12 G88 also comes with the recent RAM expansion feature called Memfusion. And this allows you to increase the 4GB of RAM of the latest phone up to 7GB.

Nonetheless, apart from the ones that i've already mentioned, other features of the Note 11 such as side-mounted fingerprint reader, dual speaker, USB Type-C port, 5,000mAh battery, and 33W Fast Charging, are also present on the Infinix Note 12 G88.

Verdict:
Since Infinix Note 12 G88 maintain the looks, and also packed all the features of the Note 11, therefore, the main selling points of the latest phone are those minor improvements or updates, mentioned above. That is, a slightly clearer and brighter display, MemFusion, and the latest version of Infinix XOS custom UI.
Therefore, Infinix Note 12 G88 is the same phone as the Note 11. This is why both of them have the same model number: X663.
So, if you already owned Note 11 (x663), you won't miss much, except for a slightly more vivid display. But if you're a new buyer, Note 12G 88 is a good choice at this price point, mainly because of its AMOLED dsiplay.

Because, many Android phones such as Infinix Hot 12, Tecno Spark 9 Pro, Tecno Camon 19 have similar processing power as the Note 12 G88, but this phone is among the few ones that have such an AMOLED display.
Though, those listed phones come with Helio G85 CPU, compared to the Helio G88 CPU of the Note 12, but both Helio G88 and Helio G85 are technically the same processor.
Even while all those phones are pre-loaded with Android 12 OS, Infinix Note 12 G88, as i said earlier, comes with Android 11.

Therefore, if you want a better performance (in the same body), that really makes a big difference, add money and go for Infinix Note 12 G96. Besides having a more powerful Helio G96 CPU, Note 12 G96 also features Android 12 OS. It also offers twice RAM and storage capacity as the Note 12 G88.

Price And Design Colours:
Infinix Note 12 G88 comes in three colour options of Jewel Blue, Sunset Golden, and Force Black.
The 6GB/128GB variant of the Note 12 is not readily available in this region, it's only the 4GB/128GB variant that's easier to find. And the current price of the phone is about 110,500 Naira.

Design: Same As The Note 11:
Because Infinix Note 11 and Note 12 G88 look so much identical, the only way you can tell apart the latest one from the earlier model is by its large rectangular shape bump. Which occupies the entire upper part of the phone's back cover. And the camera module of the latest model is placed on the bump.
Also while the earlier phone came with two-tone gradient finish, the latest one sports a semi-glossy finish.

Safe for those minor differences, every other visit attribute of the Note 12 are exactly like that of the earlier model.
For instance, and besides sporting the same design, the same 6.7-inch screen size, and the same camera module, Infinix Note 12 also features the same dimensions (164.4x76.7x7.9mm), the same wide aspect ratio (20:9), and the same weight (184g) as the Infinix Note 11.

The phone's USB Type-C port, microphone, 3.5mm audio jack are also concentrated on the bottom edge, while its fingerprint reader (which doubles as power button) and its 3-in-1 SIM slot are also placed on the right and left edges respectively.
Also while the primary speaker of the phone is place on the bottom edge, alongside the other ports, the secondary speaker is placed directly above the front camera.

A Slightly Clearer And Brighter Display:
Besides having the same 6.7-inch screen size and an AMOLED panel as the earlier one, the display of the Note 12 G88 also features the same Full-HD+ resolution of 2400x1080 (393ppi).
However, despite sharing screen properties with the earlier model, the display of the Note 12 G88 is clearer and look more vivid. Pictures and videos appear crisp and sharper, and colours also look more punchy.
Also, the screen is slightly more brighter than the earlier one. Infinix says the brightness level on the latest phone's screen is about 1000nits, compared to the 700nits of the earlier one. The good brightness level makes the Note 12 G88 display to look vivid, thereby usable under direct sunlight.
Nonetheless, the phone still comes with the regular 60hz screen refresh rate like its predecessor. When the likes of the least equipped Infinix Note 12i comes with 90hz refresh rate.

Same Camera System:
The 50-megapixel triple-rear camera of the Note 12 G88, like that of its predecessor, is also made up of a 50-megapixel Wide-angle or main lens, 2-megapixel Depth sensing lens (for taking pictures with Bokeh effect or blur background), and a QVGA lens (which assists the main camera in taking brighter pictures in low-light environments).
The phone also maintain the 16-megapixel selfie lens of the earlier one.

infinix-note-12-g88.

The latest phone rear camera was able to maintain the bright, clear, and sharp photos of the earlier model. The Night shorts are also clear and moderately bright.
Though, some times, colours appear to be slightly on the warm side, but generally speaking, the shots from the rear cameras look quite okay, and colours also look good.

Also, the front-facing camera of the Note 12 was able to deliver bright and clear selfies. Colours also look good, though not impressive. Also despite the fact that the selfies appear clear and sharp, they are not detail.

Meanwhile, like those of the earlier Note 11, both the front and rear cameras of the Note 12 are capable of shooting 2k videos at 30fps (frame per second). But with Image Stabilization (EIS) (not OIS), the rear camera video recording is capped at 1080p.

Same Processing Power And Software:
Because Infinix Note 12 G88 also features Helio G88 CPU, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS as the earlier Note 11, the phone's processing speed is almost the same as that of the earlier phone. So also its gaming performance and other graphics related tasks.

Unlike the earlier phone, however, the performance of the Infinix Note 12 can still be boosted through MemFusion.
MemFusion enables you to convert certain amount of your phone internal storage space to Virtual RAM. In the case of Note 12, MemFusion enables you to convert up to 3GB of free space (out of the phone's inbuilt storage) to RAM. Thereby, allowing you to increase the 4GB of RAM of the phone up to 7GB.
And in the case of 6GB RAM variant (of the phone), MemFusion allows you to increase the RAM up to 11GB.

Meanwhile, the 128GB internal storage capacity of the Note 12 G88, like that of the earlier phone, can still be expanded via microSD card up to 512GB.

Same Battery Capacity, Same Fast Charging:
Concerning battery capacity and charging speed, everything also remain the same. Because, Infinix Note 12 G88 also retain the 5000mAh battery, USB Type-C port, and 33W fast charging of the earlier model. And with the phone's out-of-the-box 33W fast charger, it'll still take you almost the same time of about one hour thirty minutes to fully charge this phone's battery when it drops to zero percent.
