Though Infinix Hot 12 features the same 6.82-inch screen size, the same aspect ratio, and almost the same dimensions as the Infinix Hot 11, but, the latest phone looks quite different from its predecessor. Infinix Hot 12 wear a more appealing and classy looks.

In addition to that, Infinix Hot 12 also offers a better CPU, higher RAM option, USB Type-C port, 18W fast charging, recent Android OS and a few others. In fact, compared to the earlier model, the only two Cons of the latest phone are its downgraded battery and low-megapixel main rear camera.

By the way, infinix Hot 12 is the standard variant of the recently unveiled Infinix Hot 12 Series. Others in the latest Series are Infinix Hot 12 Pro, Infinix Hot 12 Play, and Infinix Hot 12i. As expected, Infinix Hot 12 Pro is the most equipped variant in the Series.

On the other hand, Infinix Hot 12 Play shares features with the standard variant Hot 12, but it's fitted with a less powerful CPU and runs on the previous Android 11 OS. Also unlike the Hot 12 and Hot 12 Pro, Infinix Hot 12 Play doesn't support fast charging. Yet, it's the only one among them that's equipped with the strongest battery.

And lastly, Infinix Hot 12i is the least equipped variant in the latest Hot series. And it's the only one among them that has a different looks and a slightly smaller display. Also like the Hot 12 Play, Infinix Hot 12i doesn't support fast charging.

Meanwhile, despite having the same screen size and form factor, still, as i mentioned before, Infinix Hot 12 wear a more attractive or prettier looks than its predecessor.
Firstly, the tear-drop notch on the earlier phone's display has been replaced with a camera cut-out (Infinity-O), this makes the front of the Hot 12 to look classy and more prettier than that of the earlier phone.
Also, unlike its predecessor, Infinix Hot 12 has a flat back and flat edges; which give the latest phone a more premium and clear-cut appearance. The phone also sports a glossy finish, with a plain-looking back cover and a matching rear camera bump.

Nonetheless, the 6.82-inch Infinity-O display of the Hot 12 still feature the same HD+ resolution, and the same aspect ratio, as the 6.82-inch drop-notched display of the Infinix Hot 11. The screen also support 90Hz refresh rate like the earlier one.
Yet, the the screen of the latest phone looks slightly more vivid and colourful than the one on the earlier model.

Also except for its downgraded primary rear camera, other cameras on the Hot 12 are still like those on the Hot 11.
Apart from the fact that the phone also features a single-lens front camera and a triple-lens rear camera like its predecessor, the front-facing camera of the Hot 12 also has an 8-megapixel sensor like the one on the earlier model.
But the 50-megapixel main rear camera on the earlier phone has been downgraded to 13-megapixel on the Hot 12. But the other two rear cameras on the latest phone remain as those of the earlier model.
And in spite of its lower megapixel sensor, the main rear camera on the latest phone was still able to take good quality pictures.

Under the hood, Infinix Hot 12 is powered by the Helio G85 Mediatek CPU; which packed a much better processing and graphics power than the Helio G37 CPU of the Hot 11. The latest phone also runs on the recent Android 12 OS, with the latest version of Infinix XOS custom UI on top.

Although, basically, Infinix Hot 12 (x6817) comes with 4GB of RAM like its predecessor, and it also features 128GB internal storage space, yet the latest phone is still available in an higher RAM (x6817b) option of 6GB (paired with the same 128GB inbuilt storage).
In addition to its higher RAM option, Infinix Hot 12 also comes with MemFusion; a recently unveiled RAM expansion feature which enables you to increase, for example, the 4GB RAM of the phone up to 7GB.

In addition to those ones, the rear-mounted fingerprint reader and microUSB port that came with the earlier phone have also been replaced with a side-mounted fingerprint reader and USB Type-C port on the Hot 12.
But the 6000mAh battery capacity of the earlier phone has been downgraded to 5000mAh. Yet, unlike the earlier phone that did not support fast charging, Infinix Hot 12 features 18W fast charging.

NOTE: Infinix Note 12i (X6819) shares everything with the Hot 12, except for the fact that the Note phone is fitted with a better rear camera.

Price And Colour Design:
Infinix Hot 12 is available in four colour options of Racing Black, Legend White, Origin Blue, and Lucky Green. However, it's only the 4GB RAM variant or Infinix Hot 12 (x6817) that's available in this region. And the current price of the phone is about 105,000 Naira.

A More Attractive And Clear-cut Design:
The first and the major demerit of the earlier Infinix Hot 11 was its unexciting or regular looks. On the other hand, the first and the major selling point of the Infinix Hot 12 is its classy, attractive, and premium looks.

Though the phone still features the same screen size, the same aspect ratio, and almost the same dimensions as the earlier one, but Infinix Hot 12 looks quite appealing.
Besides having a hole-punch camera, Infinix Hot 12 display also has slimmer bezels. Which make the front of the phone to look sleeker, and also enable the phone to have a slightly higher screen to body ratio than its predecessor.

Also compared to the earlier phone's curved edges, Infinix Hot 12 has flat edges and flat back. The pretty looking camera bump on this phone also lie flat to the back cover. These make the Hot 12 to appear flatter than the earlier model. Though, with its 170.5x77.6x8.32mm dimensions, Hot 12 is actually flatter than the Hot 11 (171.5x77.5x9.2mm).

Therefore, in addition to its Infinity-O display, the clear-cut or all-flat appearance of the Infinix Hot 12 also make the phone to look more premium and more appealing than its predecessor.
Due to its glossy finish, however, Infinix Hot 12 attract smudges easily, and it's also prone scratches. Fortunately, the phone comes with a nice looking protective rubber casing, out-of-the-box. This rubber casing snuggly protect and covers the phone.
Furthermore, though the arrangements of ports and buttons are still similar to those of the earlier phone, but the ones on the latest phone has been modified a little, or upgraded.
For instance the power button on this phone (which is still on the right side with the volume keys) is now doubled as a fingerprint reader, because the latest phone doesn't have a rear-mounted fingerprint reader like its predecessor.

The microUSB port on the earlier phone's has also been replaced with a USB Type-C port. But the 3.5mm audio jack, mouthpiece, and speaker are still located on the bottom edge of the phone, alongside the USB Type-C port. Also unlike the earlier phone that came with a single speaker, Infinix Hot 12 comes with a dual speaker.

While the first one is located on the bottom edge (like the one the earlier model), the second speaker is embedded on the upper part of the phone's display. Infinix Hot 12 also come with dual screen flash.

Nonetheless, the dual Nano SIM+SD card slot and tray of the phone are still located on the left edge. Also like that of the Hot 11, there is nothing on the top edge of the Hot 12.

Though Lower Megapixel Rear Camera But Better Picture Qualities:
Because the 13-megapixel main rear camera of the Hot 12 is lower than the 50-megapixel of the Hot 11, pictures taken with the latest phone's rear camera are not as sharp as the ones taken with the earlier phone's. Yet, the pictures are still clear, and they are detail too, colours and HDR also look good. Even the Night Mode on the Hot 12 looks better.

The other two rear cameras on the Hot 12 are exactly like those of the earlier model. Because the second camera is also fitted with a 2-megapixel Depth sensor (for taking pictures with Bokeh effect or blur background), the third camera is also fitted a QVGA sensor (which assists the main camera in taking brighter pictures in low-light environments).
The selfies from the 8-megapixel front facing camera of the Hot 12 are still similar to those of the Hot 11 front camera, may be a little saturated.

As a result of its better CPU, both the front and rear cameras of the Hot 12 are capable of shooting 2k videos at 30fps (frame per second), unlike those of its predecessor that are capped at 1080p.

The 6.82-inch Display Of The Hot 12 Looks Slightly More Better:
Besides having a hole-punch camera and thinner bezels, another thing that contributes to the beauty of the Hot 12 display is its colourful screen. Though, the 6.82-inch screen of this phone also has an IPS-LCD panel like the earlier one, and it also features the same 720p or HD+ resolution of 1640x720 (262ppi), with support for the same 90Hz refresh rate (which brings about smoother page scrolling and animations), yet, the screen of the Hot 12 looks better.

Pictures and videos appear more vibrant, and colours also look slightly more richer.
The display brightness also looks better, in normal lighting conditions though. Because the brightness level is not on the high side, about 300nits. So, the screen won't impress you under direct sunlight.

Better Processing Power:
Apart from the looks, another major selling point of the Infinix Hot 12, when you compared it to the earlier model, is its stronger CPU and recent Android OS (Operating System).
Out of the box, Infinix Hot 12 is pre-installed with the recent Android 12 OS. Also running on top of the OS is the latest version (10.0v) of the Infinix XOS custom UI; which includes some interesting and attractive features, such as a prettier Quick Menu panel.

And to ensure the recent software are running successfully or effectively on the Infinix Hot 12, the phone is equipped with Helio G85 CPU, which packed more muscle than the Helio G37 that came with Hot 11. The latest chipset is also paired with a powerful Mali-G52 MC2 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) which brings about a better gaming experience. and it's also slightly more power efficient.

Though Infinix Hot 12 retain the 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity of its predecessor. Yet the latest phone offers an higher RAM option of 6GB. Besides, whether 4GB or 6GB, the amount of RAM on the Hot 12 can still be increased through MemFusion.
MemFusion enables you to convert certain amount of your phone internal storage space to Virtual RAM. In other words, and in case of 4GB of RAM variant of the Hot 12, MemFusion enables you to convert up to 3GB of free space (out of the phone's inbuilt storage) to RAM. Thereby, allowing you to extend the 4GB of RAM of the phone up to 7GB.
By the way, like its predecessor, the 128GB internal storage space of the Hot 12 can be expanded, via microSD card, up to 256GB.

5000mAh Battery, And Support For Fast Charging:
Compared to the 6000mAh battery of the Hot 11, Infinix Hot 12 is fitted with a 5000mAh battery. Obviously, the battery of the latest phone is smaller, but a 5000mAh battery capacity is more than sufficient. Besides, unlike its predecessor, Infinix Hot 12 support fast charging.

In other words, compared to the Hot 11 standard 10W charging, Infinix Hot 12 support 18W fast charging. Therefore, and with the phone's out-of-the-box 18W fast charger, it'll take you about one hour fourty five minutes to fully charge Infinix Hot 12 battery when it drops to one percent. While it took the earlier phone over three and half hours to fully charge its 6000mAh battery (with its standard 10W charger) when its dropped to one percent.
