Yet, for user to enjoy optimum gaming experience, Tecno still went further and equipped the latest Pova with a more better features. The phone also looks prettier than its predecessor.
Though, at a glance, Tecno Pova 2 (LE7) looks like the earlier phone, because it also sports a Dot-in display and has similar stripe (or line) runs from the bottom to the top part of its back cover. However, Tecno Pova 2 comes with a few modifications; which make the phone to look sleeker than its predecessor.
Firstly, compared to the 6.8-inch display of the Pova 1, Pova 2 sports a hair's bigger 6.9-inch display. Also the camera cut-out (or Dot-in) on the latest Pova's display is found on the top centre, instead of top left corner like that of the Pova 1. The rectangular-shaped rear camera bump on the Pova 1 has also been replaced with a taller and more prettier one.
Furthermore, instead having a rear-mounted fingerprint reader like its predecessor, Tecno Pova 2 sports a side mounted fingerprint reader. In other words, the Power button on this phone also doubled as a fingerprint reader. The Google Assistance button that came with the Pova 1 is also missing on this phone. All these make Tecno Pova 2 to appear cleaner, less cluster and more sleeker than its predecessor.
Remember that one of the Cons of the first Pova is the camera system. And i concluded that the less impressive camera system was because the phone was designed, like Tecno said, for gaming. However, despite having an 8-megapixel front-facing camera like the earlier model, Tecno Pova 2 is mounted with a 48-megapixel Quad back camera; which is higher than the 13-megapixel Quad back camera on the Pova 1.
A few, yet important, upgrades have also taken place under the hood. Although the phone still maintain the RAM and storage configurations of its predecessor, for a more pleasant gaming experience, Tecno Pova 2 is equipped with a larger battery, slightly better CPU and latest Android OS.
In other words, though Tecno Pova 2 also packed 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage like its predecessor, but the phone is pre-installed with the recent Android 11 OS and the recent version of HiOS custom UI.
Also in place of Helio G80 CPU, Tecno Pova 2 is equipped with a slightly better Helio G85 CPU. Furthermore, and despite that the earlier Pova was already fitted with a huge and sufficient 6000mAh battery, Tecno still equipped the latest Pova with a monstrous 7000mAh battery (first of its kind from the Tecno Mobile). But, in spite of its bigger battery (and USB-C port), Pova 2 still retain the 18W fast charging of its predecessor. This phone also lack bottom-firing speaker like the earlier phone, which, to me, is one of the necessary features that a gaming phone needs.
Note: It's officially stated that Tecno Pova 2 is available in both 4GB/64GB variant and 6GB/128GB variant like its predecessor. Unfortunately, it's only the 6GB/128GB variant that's available in this region.
Except for the lack of the rear mounted fingerprint reader and Google Assistant button, the arrangements of ports and buttons on the Pova 2 are similar to those of the Pova 1. You have the volume rockers and power button (which now doubled as fingerprint reader) on the right edge of the phone, while the 3-in-1 SIM slot and tray are located on the left edge. And on the bottom edge is the microphone, USB-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. Also like that of the Pova 1, there is nothing on the top edge of the Pova 2.
A Hair's Bigger And Sharper Display:
Like the minute smaller 6.8-inch screen of the Pova 1, the 6.9-inch screen of the latest Pova is also suitable for gaming and other media consumptions. But while the earlier display features a 720p resolution, the latest display packed a Full-HD+ resolution of 2460x1080. This also means that the Pova 2's screen has a pixel density (or sharpness) of 389ppi, which is higher than the 264ppi of the earlier phone's screen.
As a result, high definition games, videos and pictures appear more clearer and detailed on the latest Pova's display. The screen brightness is slightly on the higher side too, the colours also look slightly more vivid.
Meanwhile, except for the 48-megapixel main sensor, the rest of the back cameras are still like those of the earlier model. Which means the other three back cameras are made-up of a 2-megapixel Macro-sensor (for taking detailed pictures of close-up objects), a 2-megapixel Depth sensor (for taking pictures with Bokeh effects or blurred background) and a QVGA or AI sensor (Which assist in taking brighter pictures in low-lights environments).
Also like those of the Pova 1, both the front and back cameras of the Pova 2 are capable of recording 2K videos at 30fps (frame per second) and 720p Slow Motion videos at 240fps.
Latest OS, Almost The Same CPU, And Same RAM And Storage:
Except for the upgraded CPU and latest software, the RAM and internal storage configuration of the Pova 2 are still like those of the earlier model. In other words, Tecno Pova 2 has 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage; which is expandable, via microSD card, up to 512GB.
In details, both Helio G85 and Helio G80 are 12nm octa-core processors, with the same 6x Cortex-A55 Arm and 2x Cortex-A75 Arm. The processing speeds of both CPUS also clocked at 2.0GHz.
Nonetheless, and despite that both of them also features the same Mali-G52 MP2 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), the processing speeds of the Helio G85's GPU clocked at 1000MHz, while that of the Helio G80 clocked at 950MHz.

Recall that Tecno said the first Pova was designed with gaming in mind. Truly, and compared to other android phones from the company, Tecno Pova 1 (LD7) packed the necessary features that are needed for a better gaming experience. For instance, the phone sported a big 6.8-inch display, Helio G80 gaming chipset, 6GB of RAM (4GB for the base variant) and a huge 6000mAh battery.
Yet, for user to enjoy optimum gaming experience, Tecno still went further and equipped the latest Pova with a more better features. The phone also looks prettier than its predecessor.

Price And Design Colour:
Meanwhile, Tecno Pova 2 comes in three colour options of Polar Silver, Power Blue And Dazzle Black. And the current price of the phone is about 135,000 Naira.
Tecno Pova 2 Design:
Though, as i said, Tecno Pova 2 looks better than the Pova 1, which is mainly due to the latest phone front camera repositioning and pretty-looking back camera bump (mentioned above).
But as results of its bigger battery and increased size or dimensions (171.3x78.8x9.62mm), Tecno Pova 2 is heavier (231g), slightly larger and thicker than its predecessor. Which means this phone is not comfortable to hold and operate with one hand. Anyway, gamers wouldn't have much problems with that.

It's Only The Main Back Camera That's Better:
Though Tecno Pova 2 is fitted with a 48-megapixel Quad back camera; which is higher than the 13-megapixel Quad back camera of the Pova 1, still the phone retain the 8-megapixel front-facing camera of the earlier model. However the dual front flash on the Pova 1 has been replaced with a single front flash on the Pova 2.

Also compared to the Helio G80 CPU that powered the earlier phone, Tecno Pova 2 is fitted with the Helio G85 CPU. Unfortunately, both Helio G80 and Helio G85 have almost the same processing powers. In fact, the difference between the two processors lies in their GPUs clock speeds.
In details, both Helio G85 and Helio G80 are 12nm octa-core processors, with the same 6x Cortex-A55 Arm and 2x Cortex-A75 Arm. The processing speeds of both CPUS also clocked at 2.0GHz.

Long Lasting 7000mAh Battery:
Equipping Tecno Pova 2 with a monstrous 7000mAh battery is a commendable move from the Tecno. Because, and apart from the fact that it enables gamers to stay online as long as they like without being conscious of the battery status, the bigger battery also complement the slightly larger Full-HD+ display of the latest Pova.
Nonetheless, and despite supporting 18W fast charging like its predecessor, it'll still take you about 3 hours to fully charge this huge battery when it drops to 1 per cent. Though on a single charge and with normal usage, the phone is guaranteed to last for up to three days.
