Both Infinix Hot 10 Play (X688C) and Hot 10 Lite (X657B) are the stripped-down variants of the Infinix Hot 10 (X682B). Therefore, compared to the Infinix Hot 10, these two phones are equipped with slightly less powerful processors. They also feature lower RAMs, and lower storage capacities. Also, compared to the Infinity-O display of the Hot 10, both of them also come with Drop-notch displays.
Though, Infinix Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite may sound alike, and truly, both of them look almost identical and they also come with a few identical specs such as 2GB of RAMs, 32GB internal storage capacities, 8MP Selfie cameras and 13MP primary back cameras. Yet, each of these phones has its own unique features. For instance, despite that both phones sport Drop-notch displays, Hot 10 Play is fitted with an ample 6.82-inch display, while Hot 10 Lite offers a slightly smaller screen of 6.6-inch.
Apart from its bigger display, Infinix Hot 10 Play is also equipped with a bigger 6000mAh battery, while Hot 10 Lite is fitted with 5000mAh battery. Hot 10 Play also has an edge over Hot 10 Lite when it comes to their processing powers. Because the bigger phone is fitted with the Helio G25 cpu; which is more better than the Helio A20 that powered Hot 10 Lite.
Though, Hot 10 Play offers bigger screen, bigger battery and faster processor than the Hot 10 Lite, nonetheless, Hot 10 Lite also have one or two advantages over Hot 10 Play. For instance, while the mono speaker of the Hot 10 Play is embedded in the top edge of the phone, directly above the Selfie lens, Hot 10 Lite on the other hand, comes with the usual bottom firing speaker, as a result Hot 10 Lite has better sound output than the Hot 10 Play.
Secondly, though both phones have 13MP lens as their primary back cameras, yet the back of the Hot 10 Lite is mounted with Triple-lens camera, while that of the Hot 10 Play has Dual-lens camera.
Furthermore, if you're the type of person that cares about weight and compactness, you might want to consider Hot 10 Lite. Because due to its ample 6.82-inch display and bigger 6000mAh battery, Hot 10 Play has an heavier weight of 207g. Though such weight is expected because the better equipped Infinix Hot 10 (X682B), with its slightly smaller 5200mAh battery and 6.78-inch dispay, is on the heavy side too, due to its 204g weight, yet it's obvious that the Infinix Hot 10's weight is a little less than that of the Hot 10 Play.
Meanwhile, being entry-level smartphones with 2GB of RAMs, both Infinix Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite are running on the Go Edition (lighter version) of the Android 10 OS with Infinix XOS on top.
It should be emphasized that though Hot 10 Play is a little faster than the Hot 10 Lite, due to its better chipset, still, as a result of both phones 2GB of RAMs, don't expect impressive or smoother performance from any of these entry-level android phones.
Price And Colour Options:
Currently, the price of the Hot 10 Play is around 60,800 Naira and it's available in four colour options of Aegean Blue, Morandi Green, Obsidian Black and Purple. On the other hand, the price of the Hot 10 Lite is currently around 58,000 Naira and it comes in colour options of Obsidian Black, Amber Red, Ocean Wave and Moonlight Jade.
Both Of Them Have Almost The Same Design:
Apart from their different sizes, if you pay close attention to the two phones, you'll discover that Hot 10 Play looks slightly taller or narrower while Hot 10 Lite appears slightly wide. This is as a result of their different aspect ratios, in other words, Infinix Hot 10 Play features 20.5:9 aspect ratio, while Hot 10 Lite has an aspect ratio of 20:5.
Yet, despite their different sizes and aspect ratios, Infinix Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite still look almost identical from the front, and this is as a result of their same-looking drop-notches displays.
The situation is still the same when you turn them over, because their back-covers and back camera bumps also look almost the same. Though the gradient patterns on the back of each phones looks different, besides, it seems the back of the Hot 10 Play looks more appealing.
Furthermore, the positions of ports, buttons and fingerprint reader on the Hot 10 Play are almost the same with those on the Hot 10 Lite, but, as i mentioned earlier, while the Hot 10 Lite is fitted with a bottom-firing speaker, the speaker of the Hot 10 Play is embedded on the top edge of its screen.
Yet Hot 10 Lite Is A Replica Of Smart 5 (Both In Design And Specs):
Though Infinix Hot 10 Lite might have shared design and basic specs with its bigger brother i.e., Infinix Hot 10 Play, but the smaller phone is exact replica of the 5 months old Infinix Smart 5 (X657), both internally and externally.
Both outside and under the hood, Infinix Hot 10 Lite is the exact copy of the of the Infinix Smart 5. Shape for shape, size for size, specs for specs, Hot 10 Lite is the same as the Smart 5, in fact, the only differences between these two phones are found in their processors and back cameras.
While Smart 5 was fitted with older, low-end MediaTek MT6780 cpu, Hot 10 Lite is powered by the recent Helio A20 chipset. Though Helio A20 is also an entry-level processor too, but it's much better. The second difference between Hot 10 Lite and Smart 5 is that while the older phone (Infinix Smart 5) came with 8MP dual-back camera, Hot 10 Lite is fitted with 13MP triple-back camera. Besides those mentioned two, there is no other difference between Hot 10 Lite and Smart 5.
Details on the Hot 10 Play And Hot 10 Lite Hardware:
As expected of entry-level android phones, especially those within the given price range, Infinix Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite are fitted with low RAMs and low-end processors. Though, out of the two phones, Infinix Hot 10 Play boasts of a better entry-level MediaTek gaming chipset, i.e., Helio G25; which is a 12nm Arm Cortex-A75 octa-core processor with the clock speeds of up to 2.0Ghz. On the other hand however, Infinix Hot 10 Lite is powered by the lesser MediaTek MT6761D otherwise known as Helio A20; which is a 12nm Cortex-A53 quad-core processor with maximum clock speed of 1.8Ghz.
Besides its better processor, Infinix Hot 10 Play also has a better GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). Because the bigger phone is fitted with the Mali-G52 GPU; which is better than the PowerVR GE8320 GPU that comes with the Hot 10 Lite.
In spite of its better processing power, Hot 10 Play is still fitted with 2GB of RAM like Hot 10 Lite, as a result, both phones are running on the Go Edition (lighter version) of the Android 10 OS (Operating System) with Infinix XOS custom UI on top of it. But while the Hot 10 Play is running on the 7.0 version of the Infinix custom UI, Hot 10 Lite is running on the 6.2 version of it.
Meanwhile, each phones' 32GB internal storage space can be expanded, via microSD card, up to 512GB.
Displays And Cameras:
For those that love big screen phones, one of the advantages of Hot 10 Play (over Hot 10 Lite) is its bigger 6.82-inch display. And this ample display features an HD+ resolution of 1640x720 with a pixel density of 262ppi. This also implies that the smaller 6.6-inch display of the Hot 10 Lite which also features an HD+ resolution (but different pixels of 1600x720) is slightly sharper than the bigger phone's display, because the smaller phone's screen has a slighlty higher pixel density of 266ppi.
The camera set-up on both Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite are almost the same, still like most of other things about these two phones, these cameras are also fitted with basic lenses, i.e., they are of low-megapixels and the pictures taking with them can also be called decents. Each of the phones has an 8MP selfie camera on the front and 13MP primary camera on the back. Although the back of the Hot 10 Play is fitted with 13MP Dual-camera while that of the Hot 10 Lite is mounted ith 13MP Triple-camera, but the functions of these extra lenses (besides the Primary lenses) on the back of the two phones are not disclosed.
Meanwhile, both the front and back cameras of the Infinix Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps (frame per second).
Stronger Batteries:
Though, Infinix Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite are entry-level phones with basic components and features, yet these phones are fitted with big batteries that are often accompanied midrange and flagship android phones. Because the smaller of the two phones i.e., Infinix Hot 10 Lite, is equipped with a strong 5000mAh battery, while the bigger Hot 10 Play is even fitted with a more stronger 6000mAh battery. However, unlike the flagship and some mid-range phones, Infinix Hot 10 Play and Hot 10 Lite do not support fast charging. As a result, it might take you over four hours to fully charge these phones (from 1%), most especially Infinix Hot 10 Play.
