Itel P36 And P36 Pro LTE: Price, Specs And Review.
And the higher megapixel front camera of the S15s is due to the fact that those phones belong to the Selfie Series of the Itel mobile, while the latest P36 and P36 Pro LTE belong to the Power (P) Series of the phone company, hence their higher battery capacities.
And because Itel P36 and P36 Pro LTE share design with S15s, this means the latest phones looks better than their predecessors. In other words, and instead of maintaining the regular looks of the earlier Itel P33 and P33 Plus, Itel opted for a trendy and elegant design in the latest P36 and P36 Pro LTE.
Note: From the above, it's obvious that the Itel Mobile didn't use code name P34, or P35, for the latest and successors of the Itel P33, instead the phone company uses P36.
Meanwhile, apart from having a more attractive design, each of the latest phones also comes with a bigger 6.5-inch display. Yet, like the earlier models, these phones are also powered by the Unisoc Spreadtrum chipsets and the rest of their internal components, especially those of the Itel P36, are also similar to those of the Itel P32 and P32 Plus.
Therefore, Itel P36 features 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage like the earlier phones. But the Pro version of the P36 i.e., P36 Pro LTE, is equipped with 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space.
Also and despite that both phones are fitted with the Unisoc (Spreadtrum) processors, Itel P36 Pro LTE offers a faster and slightly powerful model of the chipset, and the better equipped phone also support 4G LTE network.
As a result, the better configured Itel P36 Pro attract higher price of 45,000 Naira, compared to the 35,500 Naira of the Itel P36. Meanwhile, both of the new Itel phones come in design colours of Blue, Red and Black.
Itel P36 and P36 Pro Design:
Though, Itel S15, S15 Pro, P36 and P36 Pro might have shared similar looks, still, Itel P36 and P36 Pro look slightly prettier than the earlier S-Series phones. The latest phones also have trendy looking, back camera modules.
In others words and despite that Itel P36 and P36 Pro have similar Waterdrop notch-screens as the Itel S15s, the bigger notched displays of the latest Itel phones slightly look sleeker. And each of them is also fitted with square shaped back camera module; which makes the overall design of the latest phone to appear sleeker than that of the S15s.
The chassis and back covers of the latest phones are made of plastic, and both of them also have a good build quality. Though the back of these phones look and feel slightly cheap, compared to those of the latest and slightly expensive Tecno Spark 5 and Infinix S5.
Each of the latest phones' square-shaped back camera module is found at the top left side. And located inside these camera modules are each phone's dual back camera and LED Flash.
Both phones' rear-mounted fingerprint readers are also found next to their camera modules.
Itel P36 and P36 Pro feature 3-in-1 (hybrid) SIM slots like the previously mentioned phones of the Tecno and Infinix Mobility, and these slots (and trays) are also located on the left edges of the Itel phones. On their right edges are the volume rockers and power buttons.
While the speakers, microUSB ports, microphones and 3.5mm audio jacks are found at their bottom edges, there is nothing on the top edges of the Itel P36 and P36 Pro.
6.5-inch HD+ Displays:
Like those of the more expensive phones, the 6.5-inch display of the Itel P36 Pro also features an HD+ resolution of 1600x720, at a pixel density 269ppi. On the other hand, it's also stated that the Itel P36 6.5-inch screen also features 1600x720 pixels, but this can't be attested by the specsheet of the Unisoc SC7731E (Itel P36 cpu); which support a maximum resolution of 1440x720.
Though, if the display of the Itel P36 has 1440x720 resolution (and not less), the picture on this phone's display will still be as sharp as that of the P36 Pro display. However, this phones displays offer unimpressive colour quality. Check Updates, on their displays, towards the end of the post.
Itel P36 Pro offers Better Processing Power:
Though, both phones are powered by the Unisoc (Spreadtrum) chipsets, yet each of them has different processing powers.
While Itel P36 comes with the Unisoc SC7731E chipset; which features a Cortex-A7 quad-core cpu and clock speeds of up to 1.3Ghz, Itel P36 Pro is equipped with a more powerful Unisoc SC9863A; which is a Cortex-A55 octa-core processor with faster processing speeds of up to 1.6Ghz.
Meanwhile, as a result of their different processors, Itel P36 is equipped with the Mali-T820 MP1 GPU, while P36 Pro offers a much better PowerVR GE8322 GPU.
Pro Has 2x RAM And Storage Capacity:
Although, both Itel P36 and P36 Pro are preloaded with the Android 9 Pie, but due to the limitation placed on the Itel P36 by its lower RAM and processing power, the phone is running on the Go Edition of the Android OS.
Like i said earlier, Itel P36 has 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space, while the P36 Pro offers 2GB of RAM and twice internal storage capacity of 32GB. And for their internal storage expansion, both of them support microSD card of up to 128GB.
Same Front Camera, But The Pro Offers Better Rear Camera:
Itel returns the same 8MP front facing camera of the earlier P33 Plus to the latest P36 and P36 Pro.
However and while the Itel P36 also features the same dual back camera setup as the earlier phone, Itel P36 Pro is fitted with an higher megapixels dual back camera.
In other words and while the dual-lens back camera of the Itel P36 comprises of 8MP Main lens and a QVGA Lens (for low-light shots), that of the Itel P36 Pro is made up of an higher 13MP Main lens and the same QVGA Lens.
Therefore, Itel P36 Pro dual-back camera will definitely deliver clearer pictures than that of the Itel P36.
Meanwhile, both of the phones feature Face Unlock, but non of them has Notification LED.
Same 5000mAh Battery, But Pro Support Fast Charging:
Each of the Itel P36 and P36 Pro is equipped with a strong 5000mAh battery capacity. This is expected as both phones belong to the P-Series, in addition to the fact that they also have bigger displays, compared to their predecessors. Besides, the earlier Itel P33 Plus already fitted with the same battery capacity.
Yet, out of the two latest phones, and among the rest of the P-Series, Itel P36 Pro is the first one to features 10W Fast Charging.
VERDICT: Though, the less equipped Itel P36 might have bigger screen and attractive design, the phone still retain most of the specs of the previous P-Series, but Itel Mobile did a better job with the P36 Pro.
Because and compared to other phones in the segment such as Infinix Hot 8 Lite; which currently attract the same price as the Itel P36 Pro, and also shares RAM, ROM, battery capacity and screen size with the Itel phone. Itel P36 Pro is equipped with a better octa-core processor, higher megapixels back camera with support 4G LTE network.
The last year's Tecno Spark 4 is another example, despite that the current price of the Tecno phone is a little higher than that of the Itel P36 Pro. Yet, when it comes to their looks, screen sizes and specifications, Itel P36 Pro and Techno Spark 4 are identical, except that Spark 4 has triple-lens back camera, while P36 Pro offers dual-lens back camera, still the Itel phone has trendy camera module.
Meanwhile, compared to the 4000mAh battery of the Techno phone, Itel phone is equipped with an higher battery capacity of 5000mAh. Nonetheless, Tecno Spark 4 has a better build quality.

UPDATES On Itel P36 Pro LTE Display:
Though the screen of the Itel P36 Pro LTE is as detailed (sharp) as those of the Tecno Spark 4, Infinix Hot 8 Lite and the likes, and it's because they all featured 720p resolutions. However, the colour gamut (quality) of the Itel P36 Pro display is not as good as those of the mentioned phones' displays. Meanwhile, compared to the 4000mAh battery of the Techno phone, Itel phone is equipped with an higher battery capacity of 5000mAh. Nonetheless, Tecno Spark 4 has a better build quality.
