Sporting 6.39-inch cutout display and 48MP triple-rear camera, Huawei Y7P 2020 design and features are similar to those of many other in the segment, yet this midrange phone looks more premium and sleeker than most of its peers.
In addition to its premium look, another noticeable thing about the phone is its vibrant screen, despite the fact that it's just 720p display.
Under the hood, Huawei Y7P is equipped with the Kirin 710F chipset and 4GB of RAM, and it's running on the Android 9 Pie with Huawei EMUI 9. The phone also comes with 64GB internal storage capacity and powered by a 4000mAh battery.
However, like most of the phones in this range, Huawei Y7P is fitted with microUSB port, and like i mentioned earlier, its ample display has an HD+ resolution.
Huawei Y7P is already available in major phone outlets and online stores across the region. The the current price of the phone is $169, which is equivalent to 78,000 Naira and KSh 18,000, and it is available in two colour options of Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.
Huawei Y7P Is A Premium Looking Phone:
Except you look closely, Huawei Y7P can easily be passed for a premium phone. And this has to do with its well built chassis, elegant appearance, and most especially, its premium looking backing.
The plastic backing of the Y7P has glossy finish with gradient colours; both of which make the entire back of the phone to look radiant and elegant, though, this is more obvious on Aurora Blue colour option. However, due to its smooth and glossy finish, the back of the Huawei Y7P attracts fingerprints and smudges easily, just like those of a few flagship phones.
Another thing that contribute to the sleeker look of the Huawei Y7P is its less thickness of 8.1mm; which caused the phone to have a slimmer frame. And in spite of its big size, Huawei Y7P also has a light weight of 176g.
Positioning And Arrangements of Cameras, Buttons and Others:
Meanwhile, the triple-lens back camera of the Huawei Y7P is found at the top left side, and the lenses are vertically arranged inside camera module. The LED flash is placed directly below the camera module, and at the top centre back of the phone is the fingerprint reader.
The 6.39-inch display of the Y7P comes with a screen protector, and at the top left corner of its screen is a small hole punch; which houses the phone's 8MP front facing camera. On the right edge of the phone is the power button and volume rockers, while the 3-in-1 Hybrid Nano SIM tray (and slot) are found on its left edge.
You'll found the phone's speaker, microUSB port, 3.5mm audio jack and microphone on the bottom edge. Though there is another microphone on the top edge of the Huawei Y7P, besides this, there is nothing else on the top edge.

However, compared to those of others, the Huawei Y7P screen is clearer and looks more vibrant, the colours also pops a little. This is unusual among most of the 720p displays, especially, when the Y7P's screen is also an IPS-LCD panel like many of them.

The phone also features 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage space. Its internal storage capacity can also be expanded, via microSD card of up to 1TB.
Despite the fact that most of the phones in this range are already running on the Android 10 (Q), still, Huawei Y7P is preloaded with the Android 9 Pie, with the Huawei's EMUI 9.
Although, Y7P already comes with some of the standard apps you need, if you want more, you'll have to visit Huawei App Store, which is the Huawei version of the Google App Stores.
The Front And Back Cameras Are Typical Of The Midrange Phones:
The front and rear cameras' setups (and their picture qualities) of the Huawei Y7P are similar to those of other midrange phones. Though the picture qualities of the Huawei Y7P cameras are better, but they are not impressive.
In details, the triple-lens rear camera comprises of 48MP Main lens, 8MP Ultrawide lens and 2MP Depth sensor.
It should be noted that the 48MP Main camera takes pictures at default 12MP, so if you want to shoot at full 48MP, you'll have to manually choose this mode in the camera settings.
Still talking about the Main camera, though, the difference between the picture taken with the 12MP mode and the one taken with the 48MP mode is small, in fact, you really have to look for it.
But if you really care about the detailed shots with slightly better colours, you might want to stick to 48MP mode.
By the way, the low-light or night shots look better on this phone.
Like i said earlier, the 8MP (f/2.0) front-facing camera of Huawei Y7P is found inside the cutout hole located at top left corner of the screen. And like others, Huawei Y7P also features Face Unlock, the phone also comes with Screen Flash, which is as a result of its lack of Notification LED.

Good Battery Capacity:
Huawei Y7P is equipped with a sufficient 4000mAh battery. And despite the fact that it doesn't support fast charging, it just took slightly over 2 hours to fully charge the phone from zero percent. May be this is due to its fast 10W Charger.
