Infinix S5 Pro Vs Tecno Camon 15 Premier: Price, Review And Specifications.

The recently unveiled Camon 15 Premier and S5 Pro are mid-range smartphones from the Tecno Mobile and Infinix Mobility.
While the Tecno Camon 15 Premier (aka Camon 15 Pro in some region) is the Pro or better equipped version of the Tecno Camon 15, Infinix S5 Pro, on the other hand, is the more equipped variant of the Infinix S5.
It should be emphasized that there's another 4GB variant of the Infinix S5 Pro, which shares everything with the 6GB variant except for its lower RAM and lower 64GB internal storage.
But this review is about the 6GB of RAM variant of the Infinix S5 Pro, in relation to the Tecno Camon 15 Premier. And it's because both of them have almost everything in common.
Apart from having the same 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity as the Tecno Camon 15 Premier, Infinix S5 Pro also has the same design, same P35 chipset and the same 4000mAh battery as the Tecno phone.
Both of them also come with almost the same screen sizes and they also feature identical motorized pop-up selfie cameras.
However, compared to the triple-lens back camera of the Infinix S5 Pro, Tecno Camon 15 Premier features quad-lens rear camera. But the pop-up Selfie camera of the Camon phone comes with a 32MP lens, which is lower than the 40MP lens of the S5 Pro pop-up Selfie camera.
Price: S5 Pro is slightly less expensive:
The current price of this variant of the Infinix S5 Pro is 88,000 Naira, which is less than 106,000 naira of the Tecno Camon 15 Premier.
Design: Both of Them Look Identical.
Though Camon 15 is said to have a bigger 6.6-inch display, compared to the 6.53-inch screen of the Infinix S5 Pro, yet it's hard to tell Camon 15 Premier apart from the S5 Pro, and in supporting this, both of them also have almost the same dimensions. In other words, the Tecno Camon phone dimesnsions are 163.3x77.7x9.05mm, which are approximately the same as the 162.5x76.8x8.95mm dimensions of the Infinix S5.
Apart from having almost equal sizes, both of them also feature 19.5:9 aspect ratios. And their identical motorized pop-up front cameras also enable the two phones to have true FullView displays.
From the back view, Tecno Camon 15 Premier and Infinix S5 Pro also look identical except for their different numbers of cameras and the presence of the companies' brandings.
And due to the implementation of pop-up selfie cameras, both phones have long and protruding back camera modules. But compare to those of other smartphones, such as Huawei Y9 Prime (which also features pop-up selfie camera), the back camera modules of the Tecno Camon 15 Premier and Infinix S5 Pro are intrusive.
Meanwhile, the quad-lens back camera of the Camon 15 Premier and the triple-lens back of the S5 Pro are arranged in a vertical manner inside their respective camera modules. And each of the phones rear camera is also equipped with Quad-Flash.
Ports And Slots Remain The Same:
Furthermore, the backings of Tecno Camon 15 Premier and Infinix S5 Pro are made of polycarbonate materials, and their fingerprint sensors are also located in a similar spots; very close to the long camera modules.
Both phone's volume rockers and power buttons are also placed on their right edges, while their SIM slots are located on the left edges. None of the two phones has USB-C port, instead, both of them come with the usual Micro-USB ports, which are located at the their bottom edges, along the speaker grilles, microphones and 3.5mm audio jacks.
Camon 15 Premier Is Slightly Heavier:
Despite having the same design, same features and almost the same dimensions, Camon 15 Premier is slightly on the heavier side, because the Tecno phone has a weight of 203g, while the Infinix S5 Pro has a lesser 195g weight.
Also, while the Tecno Camon 15 Premier comes in 2 colour options of Jadeite Ice and Opal White, Infinix S5 Pro is available in 3 colour options of Forest Green, Sea Blue and Violet Flowers.
Camon 15 Premier Has Quad-lens Back Camera, While Infinix S5 Pro Has Better Selfie Camera:
Apart from having quad-lens rear camera (compared to the triple-lens of the S5 Pro), the primary or Main camera of the Camon 15 Premier is also fitted with an higher megapixels sensor.
In details, while the triple-lens back camera of the Infinix S5 Pro are made up of 48MP Main lens, 2MP Depth sensing lens and a QVGA lens, the quad-lens back camera of the Tecno Camon 15 Premier, on the other hand, comprises of 64MP Main lens, 5MP Wide angle lens, 2MP Depth sensor and a low-light or QVGA lens which Tecno referred to as TAIVO.
And while the Tecno phone offers better back cameras, Infinix equipped the S5 Pro with a better Selfie lens. Because the pop-up front camera of the S5 Pro comes with a 40MP sensor, but the front camera of the Camon 15 Premier is equipped with lesser 32MP lens.
It should be noted that none of the two phones has Notification LED, instead, each of them comes with Screen Flash.
Meanwhile, and due to its better primary sensor, the portrait pictures from the quad-lens back camera of the Camon 15 Premier are slightly clearer than those of the Infinix S5 Pro. Also, due to the presence of the Wide angle lens (which is missing among the back cameras of the S5 Pro), Camon 15 Premier has ability to take wide angle pictures. Yet, the low-light shots from both phones have almost the same picture qualities.
Meanwhile the higher megapixels front camera of the Infinix S5 Pro enables the phone to have a much clearer selfie pictures than the ones taken with the front camera of the Camon 15 Premier.
Both Have Identical FullView FullHD+ Displays:
Both Tecno Camon 15 Premier and Infinix S5 Pro comes with an identical IPS-LCD FullView Displays, i.e., both of their displays neither have screen-notches nor hole-punches. Each of the screens also has the same Full-HD+ (2340x1080) resolution.
But, inspite of their FullHD+ resolutions and almost the same screen sizes, yet, as a result of its smaller 6.53-inch screen, Infinix S5 Pro display has a slightly higher 395ppi pixel density, while the Camon 15 Premier's 6.6-inch screen has a pixel density of 390ppi. In other words, the smaller display of the Infinix S5 Pro is slightly sharper than the 6.6-inch screen of the Tecno Camon 15 Premier.
Still, the difference in their screen details or sharpness is of little importance, because both displays already packed more than enough pixels (as a result of their FHD+ resolutions). Therefore, and compared to HD+ (720p) displays that often accompanied budget smartphones from both companies, Camon 15 Premier and Infinix S5 Pro displays will deliver a clearer or more detailed image when playing high definition games or watching 1080p videos.
Same RAM, Processor, OS, Storage:
Tecno Camon 15 Premier and Infinix S5 Pro are powered by the MediaTek MT6765 chipset, which is also known as Helio P35. Helio P35 is an octa-core processor with the clock speeds of up to 2.35GHz. And this also means that both phones feature the same PowerVR GE8320 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), which has clock speeds of up to 680GHz.
Each of the phones also comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity. And their built-in storage capacities can be expanded up to 256GB, via MicroSD card.
Furthermore, both Tecno camon 15 Premier and Infinix S5 Pro are also preloaded with the Android 10 O.S., which is running alongside both phones' individual Custom UI. While the Android 10, on the Camon 15 Premier, is running alongside Tecno HiOS 6.0, the Android O.S on the Infinix S5 Pro also includes the Infinix's XOS 6.0.1.
Both of the phones also come with some similar, yet, important features such as Dark Theme; which reduces eye strained or fatigue, especially while reading at night.
Same Battery Capacities:
Each of the Camon 15 Premier and S5 Pro is fitted with a 4000mAh battery. Though, a 4000mAh battery is sufficient enough for normal usage, still considering their big screens and Full-HD+ resolutions, a slightly higher battery capacities would have been better. Furthermore, Infinix S5 Pro support quick charging as the phone features Infinix's 10W Super XCharge, but i can't say the same thing about the Tecno Camon 15 Premier.
