Samsung Galaxy S10e Quick Specs.
5.8" FHD+ (2280×1080) Dynamic Amoled (Flat) Infinity-O Display.
438ppi, 19:9 Aspect Ratio.
Android 9 (Pie) O.S, Samsung One UI.
Qualcomm SD855/Exynos 9820.
Dual-lens (12MP+16MP) Rear Camera.
Single-lens (10MP) Front Camera.
6GB/8GB of RAM.
128GB/256GB Internal Storage.
Fingerprint Reader (Side).
3,100mAh Battery.
Price: from $599, (200,000 Naira).
For instance, Galaxy S10e features Dynamic Amoled Infinity-O display, Qualcomm SD855 processor, 10MP Selfie lens, 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity.
But, instead of having in-display fingerprint sensor like the Galaxy S10,
Galaxy S10e has a capacitive fingerprinter reader, the phone also comes with dual-lens back camera, slightly lower 3100mAh battery capacity and 5.8-inch screen size.
This shows that, apart from having almost the same battery capacity as the Galaxy S9 (which packed 3000mAh), Galaxy S10e also shares the same screen size with the previous Galaxy phone. But, compare to Galaxy S9, Galaxy S10e has a more attractive design.
Different Design:
If you like Samsung Galaxy phones but not a fan of their edge-to-edge curved screens, Samsung Galaxy S10e might be the right choice for you. Because the affordable Galaxy phone features a 5.8-inch non-curvature (flat) screen.
Also, the non-curvature screen neither has top bezel nor screen-notch, except for the presence of the punch-hole which Samsung implemented to gain more screen real estate in the recent Galaxy phones.
As a result, Samsung was able to achieve a screen to body ratio of 91.3% in the Galaxy S10e, which is much higher than the 86% of the Galaxy S9 (that shares screen size with the Galaxy S10e).
Meanwhile it's the small punch-hole that houses the Galaxy S10e Selfie camera, but if you're finding the punch-hole distracting, you can hide it with bar (as with the other phones with screen-notches), but you'll have less screen real estate by doing that.
And like the rest of the latest Samsung Galaxy phones, Galaxy S10e also features 19:9 screen aspect ratio, therefore, the frame of the latest Galaxy phone is slightly narrower than that of the Galaxy S9; which has different 18:9 aspect ratio.
Instead of having triple back camera like the Galaxy S10 (and Galaxy S10 Plus), Galaxy S10e is equipped with dual back camera, still, they are arranged in an horizontal manner (like those of the Galaxy S10), along with the heart rate sensor and LED Flash.
Like i mentioned earlier, Samsung Galaxy S10e doesn't have in-display fingerprint reader like the Galaxy S10, neither does it feature rear mounted one, instead the phone's fingerprint reader is embedded in the Power button, located on the right edge.
And like the rest of the recent Samsung Galaxy S phones, you'll find volume rockers on the left edge of the Galaxy S10e, and directly below the volume keys is the Bixby button; which can now be remapped (reprogrammed) to lauch another app.
The Hybrid SIM tray and earpiece are located on the top edge of the phone, while the 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C connector, microphone and speakers are located on the bottom edge.
Unlike the fronts of the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus that feature Corning Glass 6, both the front and back of the Galaxy S10e consist of Corning Glass 5. The Galaxy S10e frame, in-between the glasses is made up of aliminum metal like those of the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus.
Meanwhile, talking about its water and dust resistant, Galaxy S10e, like the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, is IP68 Certified.
Lightweight, Price and Varieties of Colours:
With its 142x69.9x7.9 dimension, Galaxy S10e has almost the same thickness as it siblings, but with its 5.29 ounce (150g) weight, it's the lightest of all, it's even lighter than the previous Galaxy S9.
Galaxy S10e comes in various glossy colours of Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Green, Prism Blue, Canary Yellow and Flamingo Pink.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy S10e are summarized below, it should be noted that the 8GB variant are currently available only in the U.S.
Price (U.S.):
6GB+128GB: $599
8GB+256GB: $849
UK & Others:
6GB+128GB: £499/ AU$1,199/ Rs 46,950.
8GB+256GB: Currently N/a.
Hardware and Software:
Samsung S10e is also equipped with the same processor as its siblings (Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and S10 5G), therefore and depending on your region, your Galaxy 10e is either powered by the Qualcomm SD855 or Samsung's Exynos 9820 processsor.
For those in the U.S. and China, their Galaxy S10e is powered by the Qualcomm SD855, a 7nm Octa-core chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz, which also feature Adreno 640 GPU. And for those in other regions, including Europe, their Galaxy S10e features Exynos 9820; an 8nm chipset that has clock speeds of up to 2.73GHz. And for its GPU, Exynos 9820 makes use of the Mali-G76 MP12.
Furthermore, Galaxy S10e is running on the newly unveiled Samsung's One UI, which based on the Android 9 Pie Operating System.
One of the interesting features of the One UI is the Dark Mode, and it includes dark theme, which is useful especially while you're operating the phone at night because it prevent eye strain.
Meanwhile, unlike the Galaxy S10 that comes in only one RAM option of 8GB, Galaxy S10e presents the buyers with two memory of options of either 6GB or 8GB. And while the 6GB RAM variant of the S10e is fitted with 128GB storage space, the 8GB RAM of the phone is paired with a more roomy 256GB internal storage sspace. Irrespective of your choice, the S10e in-inbuilt memory is upgradable via microSD card of up to 512GB.
Dual Back Camera but Same Megapixels:
Though Samsung introduces dual-lens front camera to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, but like the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e also comes with a single 10MP (f/1.8) front camera. The front camera of the Galaxy S10e also support Live Focus and other related features that also comes with Galaxy S10.
And also, while the rest of the 2019 Galaxy S phones are fitted with three back cameras, Galaxy S10e comes with a dual-lens back camera (12MP+16MP). The Main rear camera of the Galaxy S10e is made up of 12MP variable aperture (f/1.5 and f/2.4) lens, introduced in the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, and it is meant to deliver bright and detailed image of the pictures taken at night or low-light environments.
The second back camera is made up of 16MP (f/2.2) Ultra-Wide-Angle lens which has ability to capture 123 degree Field of View (FoV), i.e., ability to capture more of what is in front you without moving back.
Like its siblings, Galaxy S10e are also capable of shooting 4K UHD videos at 60fps (frames per second), and it also support Super Slo-Mo HD (720p) videos at 960fps.
Dynamic Amoled Screen FullHD Resolution:
The 5.8-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy S10e also features Dynamic Amoled panel like the rest of the more expensive new Galaxy phones. Dynamic Amoled screen offers better contrast and vibrant colours than the previous Super Amoled panel.
And because of its ability to cover 100% DCI-P3 (Digital Cinema Initiatives) colour space, Samsung Dynamic Amoled display is HDR+ Certified.
This means that when it comes to displaying HDR+ videos or contents, S10e display will deliver more accurate colours and life-like pictures than other Non-HDR+ Certified displays.
Galaxy S10e Dynamic Amoled screen also features Blue Light filter; which reduces the harmful screen blue light that causes eyes strain.
However, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S10 (and S10 Plus) display that features Quad HD+ resolution, the 5.8-inch screen of the Galaxy S10e comes with a slightly less FullHD+ (2280x1080) resolution, nonetheless, because of its high pixel density of 438PPI, the texts and images on the Galaxy S10e acreen will appear crisp and detailed.
3,100 mAh Battery:
Though, the battery capacity of the S10e is a little more than the 3000mAh of the Galaxy S9, yet, out of all the 2019 Galaxy S phones, Galaxy S10e has the least battery capacity of 3100mAh. Nonetheless, the less expensive phone's battery life should be close to that of those of its siblings. Because Galaxy S10e 5.8-inch HD+ display will consume less power compare to the bigger, QHD+ displays of the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus.
Meanwhile, like the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, Galaxy S10e also support 15W Fast Charging and 12W Wireless Charging.
Also, like more expenses ones, Galaxy S10e is features newly unveiled Wireless Powershare: with the Wireless Powershare, you can charge your Qi-enabled devices like Galaxy buds, by placing them on the back of your Galaxy S10e.
