Infinix Hot 8 Lite (X650) is an entry-level Smartphone from the Infinix Mobility. And just like the way Infinix Hot 7 (X624B) is the base variant of the Infinix Hot 7, Infinix Hot 8 Lite is also the base variant of the Infinix Hot 8.
NOTE: Although there is a 1GB RAM/16GB ROM variant of the Infinix Hot 7, i.e. Infinix Hot 7 (X624), there is no 1GB RAM/16GB ROM variant of the new Infinix Hot 8.
Meanwhile, like the Infinix Hot 7 (X624B), Infinix Hot 8 Lite is also equipped with the basic specs that are often found in the entry level smartphones. For instance, Infinix Hot 8 Lite is preloaded with the Go Edition of the Adroid 9 Pie, it only supports 3G network, and it also features entry-level MediaTek CPU. Still, Infinix Hot 8 Lite comes with the same premium design, bigger notched-display, huge battery capacity, good selfie camera and a few other trendy features, like its more equipped sibling, i.e. Infinix Hot 8.
Premium Design:
Although, Infinix Hot 8 Lite is equipped with the basic specs, it doesn't have the look and feel of an an entry-level smartphone, because it has a good build quality and attractive design, just like the previous Infinix Hot 7. But, bigger and prettier than that of the Hot 7, Infinix Hot 8 Lite offers 6.6-inch screen which is also adorned with the Waterdrop-notch; instead of the wider screen-notch that's found at the top of the Infinix Hot 7's display.
Infinix Hot 8 Lite also features a different screen aspect ratio of 20:9, which makes the phone to be slightly slender. And it's as a result of this slender frame that the Infinix Hot 8 Lite can be held (and operated) with one hand comfortably, despite its bigger size.
While the front is covered with the 2.5D glass, the backing of the phone is made of polycarbonate (glass-like material). The back cover also has smooth edges, which makes the phone to appear sleeker.
Furthermore, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite features two rear-facing cameras, which are arranged horizontally, in an enclosure, along with the Quad-LED flash. The phone's Fingerprint reader is located below the dual back camera enclosure. And the Infinix branding is also found on the back of the phone, towards the bottom.
As usual, the Volume rockers and the Power button are found on the right edge of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite, while the Hybrid SIM card Slot (and Tray) is located on its left edge. You'll find the microUSB port, Speaker, microphone and 3.5mm audio jack on the phone's bottom edge, and the its earpiece is placed directly above the Selfie camera. Meanwhile, there is nothing on the top edge of the infinix Hot 8 Lite.
Price and Colours:
Infinix Hot 8 Lite comes in various colour options of Quetzal Cyan, Cosmic Purple, Midnight Black and Shark Grey. Infinix Hot 8 Lite is still available in major smartphone outlets and online stores across the region. And currently, the price of the phone is around 43,000 Naira.
NOTE: For About 44,200 Naira, Tecno Spark 4 offers slightly better MediaTek CPU, 4G LTE and better Triple Rear Camera. But the Tecno phone has a slightly less screen size and less battery capacity.
Processing Power and Storage:
Being an entry-level smartphone, Infinix Hot 8 Lite doesn't pack much processing power. Because like the Infinix Hot 7 (X624B), Infinix Hot 8 Lite is also powered by the same MediaTek MT6580P Quad-Core chipset, a Cortex A7 processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz. This also means that the latest phone features the same Mali-400 MP GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) like the Hot 7 (X624B).
Furthermore, like the previous Infinix Hot 7 (X624B), Infinix Hot 8 Lite also offers 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space. And the phone's internal storage space can be expanded, through MicroSD card, up to 128GB.
Concerning its O.S. (Operating System) Infinix Hot 8 Lite is running on the Go Edition of the Android 9 (Pie), along with the Infinix XOS Cheetah 5.0.2.
First Infinix phone to features Ample 6.6-inch HD+ (720p) Display:
Though, like that of the Infinix Hot 7, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite display also features IPS-LCD panel and it's also has HD+ (720p) resolution. But compare to the 6.2-inch display of the earlier Hot phone, Infinix Hot 8 Lite features a bigger 6.6-inch display. In fact, it's the first Infinix phone to have such a bigger screen size.
Meanwhile, as a result of its bigger 6.6-inch display and its different screen aspect ratio, Infinix Hot 8 Lite features a different screen resolution of 1600x720, instead of the 1500x720 that's found on the Infinix Hot 7 display.
Still, Infinix Hot 7 display is slightly sharper than that of the Hot 8 Lite. And it's because the earlier phone's display has a slightly higher pixel density of 268ppi, while the bigger display of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite has a pixel density of 266ppi.
Dual Back Camera lens but Same 8MP Selfie lens:
The dual back camera of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite comprises an 8MP Primary lens and a QVGA lens (with undisclosed megapixels), the QVGA lens is for the low-light pictures. It's obvious that the Single back camera of the previous Infinix Hot 7 (X624B), which has a better 13MP lens, will give you a more detailed or clearer pictures than the dual back camera of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite.
Meanwhile, like the Infinix Hot 7, Infinix Hot 8 Lite also features the same 8-MP (f/2.0) front facing camera, which is placed inside the screen-notch. And due to its lack of notification LED, the phone features Screen Flash which is embedded in the bezel above the front camera. And like its predecessor, the new phone also features Face Unlock.
First Hot phone to feature 5000mAh:
For best user experience, Infinix Mobility complements the Infinix Hot 8 Lite's big screen with a huge 5000mAh battery capacity.
The 5000mAh battery and the phone's inbuilt Battery Lab power management, therefore, ensure that you have more than enough power left on your new smartphone after hours of surfing the net or watching HD movies. However, because the phone does not support fast charging, it might take you close to 3hours 30 minutes, to charge the Infinix Hot 8 Lite fron 0 to 100%.
