Hot 8 is the latest model of the HOT Series of the Infinix Mobility, and it's the subsequent version of the Infinix Hot 7, which was released early this year. Like the previous Hot phones, Infinix Hot 8 is a premium looking budget smartphone with decent specs. Although Infinix Hot 8 features different design, bigger display and bigger battery capacity, the latest phone still shares basic components such as processor, RAM, ROM, front and back camera lenses with its predecessor.

And, like the previous models, Infinix Hot 8 also comes in different variants i.e., Infinix Hot Lite (X650), Infinx Hot 8 (X650B) and the better equipped Infinx Hot 8 (X650C). it should be noted that the Infinix Hot 8 (X650C) is referred to as the Infinix Hot 8 in some regions e.g. India market. And compare to other two variants, Infinix Hot 8 (X650C) sport a lesser screen size of 6.52-inch.

NOTE: Infinix Hot 8 does not have 1GB RAM/16GB ROM variant like the previous Infinix Hot 7.

Meanwhile, this quick review is about the Infinix Hot 8 (X650B) and the Infinx Hot 8 Lite (X650)

Infinix Hot 8 vs infinix Hot 8 Lite:
Infinix Infinx Hot 8 (X650B) and 8 Hot Lite (X650) have a lot in common, for instance, both of them feature the same 6.6-inch Displays, same 2GB of RAMs and the same 32GB internal storage capacities. The two phones also have the same 5000mAh batteries and the same 8MP Selfie cameras.
Despite their identical looks and specs, Infinix Hot 8 and 8 Hot Lite still come with a few differences, most of which are highlighted below:

-Unlike the Infinix Hot 8 that supports 4G (LTE), Infinix Hot 8 Lite only supports 3G.

-The Infinix Hot 8 also offers slightly faster processing speed than the Infinix Hot 8 Lite.

-And while the Infinix Hot 8 is fitted with the triple-lens rear camera, Infinix Hot 8 Lite features Dual-lens back camera.

-Also, compare to the 8MP Main back camera of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite, Infinix Hot 8 has a better 13MP Main rear lens.

Both Look Identical Design Except For Their Different Rear Camera Set-up:
The selling point of the Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite are their big, notched-displays, classy looks and distinct aspect ratios. In details, both Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite feature identical 6.6-inch displays. The bigger screens also feature identical waterdrop screen-notches; which house the phones' 8-megapixel front-facing cameras.

Obviously, the 6.6-inch displays of the Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite are on the big side, but because both of them feature 20:9 aspect ratio (instead of the 19.5:9 or 19:9), their frames appear narrower or slender. Therefore, despite their bigger sizes, it's easy to hold and operate them with one hand comfortably.

While the fronts of the phones are covered with the 2.5D Glasses, their backs are made of polycarbonate (glass-like material).
The triple back camera of the Infinix Hot 8, and the dual back camera of the Hot 8 Lite, are vertically arranged, along with the Quad Flash, on their backs. Not far from their back camera enclosures are the Fingerprint readers, and down towards the end of their backs is the Infinix branding.

Because of the absence of Notification LEDs, both Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite feature Screen Flash; which is embedded on both sides of the screen notch. The hybrid SIM card slot and Tray are located on the left edges of the phones, while the Volume Rockers and Power Button are placed on the right edges. The Phones' speaker, mouthpiece, microUSB port and 3.5mm audio jack are on the bottom edges. And, there is nothing on the top edges of the Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite.

Price and Colours:
Both Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite are available, in the market, at the price of 50,000 Naira and 46,500 Naira respectively. And they come in different colours of Quetzal Cyan, Cosmic Purple, Shark Grey and Midnight Black. Infinix Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite also have the same 8.7mm thickness and the same 179g weight.

Same Mediatek Quad-Core CPU, But Infinix Hot 8 processor Is Better:
Although, both Infinix Hot 8 and the Hot 8 Lite are powered by the MediaTek Quad-Core CPU, Infinix Hot 8 offers a slightly better processing power. In other words, while the Infinix Hot 8 features MT6761 Helio A22 processor, which has clock speeds of up to 2.0GHz, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is fitted with the MT6580P CPU, which has a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz.

Infinix Hot 8 also makes use of the PowerVR GE8320 GPU, which is slightly better than the Mali-400 MP GPU, that comes with the Infinix Hot 8 Lite.

Still, Infinix Mobility equipped both of the  Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite with the same 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space. And their internal storage capacities can be expanded via MicroSD card of up to 128GB.
Though, both phones are preloaded with the Android 9 Pie, but the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is running on the Go Edition of the O.S. (Operating System). Meanwhile, running along the Android 9 Pie is the Infinix's XOS Cheetah 5.0.2v.

Same front Camera But Infinix Hot 8 offers much better rear cameras:
Like i mentioned earlier, the Infinix Hot 8 features triple rear camera, while the Infinix Hot 8 Lite comes with a dual back camera.
The triple rear lens of the Infinix Hot 8 are made up of 13-megapixel Main shooter, 2-megapixel Depth sensor, while the third QVGA lens is for the Low light shots.

On the other hand, the Dual back camera of the Infinix Hot 8 Lite comprises 8-megapixel Main camera and the QVGA camera, which is for the Low light shots too.

Therefore, as a result of its higher megapixel Main camera, Infinix Hot 8 rear cameras will deliver detailed and clearer pictures than those of the Hot 8 Lite. the Infinix Hot 8 triple back camera will also deliver accurate Portrait pictures.
NB: Portraits shots blur the background (Bokeh effects) of your pics, in order to make the subject of your photo pops or become prominent.

Meanwhile, Infinix Hot 8 and the Hot 8 Lite are fitted with the same 8-megapixel front facing camera. And it should be recalled that it's the same 8-megapixel selfie camera that came with the Infinix Hot 7. Also, like their predecessors, both of the new phones feature Face Unlock.

Large 6.6-inch HD+ Display And 20:9 Aspect ratio:
As smartphones' displays are getting bigger, phone makers keep introducing different screen aspect ratio. And the reason behind this is to ensure that the smartphones can be held and operate with one hand comfortably, unlike the Tabs.
Hence, the need for the bigger 6.6-inch display of the Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite to feature another screen aspect ratio of 20:9, instead of the 19:9 or 19.5:9.

Being budget phones, the 6.6-inch IPS-LCD Display of the Infinix Hot 8 and the Hot 8 Lite is an HD+ (720p) one. Specifically, the display resolution is 1600x720, instead of the usual 1520x720 (of Tecno Spark 3) or 1500x720 (of Infinix Hot 7).
This changes in resolution is as a result of the phones' bigger screens and distinct 20:9 aspect ratio.

Furthermore, the Infinix Hot 8 and the Hot 8 Lite displays are a little less sharper than that of the previous Infinix Hot 7. And it is because the 6.2-inch display of the Hot 7 has a pixel density of 268ppi, while that of the new phones' displays is 266ppi. Though, it's obvious that the difference in their displays sharpness is negligible.

Huge 5000mAh Battery Life:
And for the optimum user experience, Infinix-Mobility complements the bigger, 6.6-inch display of the Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite with a bigger 5000mAh battery.
Their 5000mAh battery capacities and the Infinix's Battery Lab power management, ensure that the Infinix Hot 8 and the Hot 8 Lite last for a few days on a single charging.
But due to their bigger battery capacities, it might take about three and a half hours to charge charge the phones from 0 to 100%. Though, there are report that there's 2A Fasting Charging option for the Infinix Hot 8.
