Huawei Y9 Prime can also be regarded as the upgraded version of the Huawei Y9. This is because the latest phone shares design and basic internal components with the Y9, for instance , Prime features the same 4GB of RAM, 64GB (or 128GB) storage space, 4000mAh battery and the same Hisilicon Kirin chipset that has almost the same processing power.
Nevertheless, Prime still comes with its own unique features such a slightly bigger FullView display, triple back camera, USB Type-C port and pop-up motorized Selfie camera. In fact, it's the motorized pop-up Selfie that enable the latest Prime 9 to achieve a true FullView display concept.
Huawei Y9 Prime Design:
The selling point of the Huawei Y9 Prime is its pop-up camera which enables the phone to achive an almost perfect bezel-less concept. Almost-perfect in the sense that, the phone still has a slightly thicker bottom bezel.
In other words, the 6.59-inch display of the Y9 Prime, which is a hair's breadth bigger than the 6.5-inch of the Y9, features neither screen-notch nor punch-hole (in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S10), which allows the new phone to have a true FullView display or a bezel-less design concept.
Meanwhile, the motorized pop-up front camera, implemented in the new Huawei Y9 Prime, is located (and embedded) on the top edge of the phone, close to the left side.
Because it's hidden out of sight, therefore, the selfie camera only comes up (pop-up) whenever you want take selfie.
Furthermore, the phone's Hybrid SIM tray is found next to the pop-up selfie camera, and the tray has ability to accommodate either two SIM cards together at once, or a single SIM card plus a microSD card. As usual, on the right edge of the phone are the volume rockers and the power button. On the bottom edge of the Huawei Y9 Prime are the 3.5mm audio jack, mouthpiece, speaker grille and the 2.0 USB Type-C reversible connector.

Meanwhile, like the Y9, the Y9 Prime also comes in three colours of Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, but!, instead of having Aurora Purple as the third colour option, the new Huawei Y9 Prime offers Emerald Green.
The starting price of the new phone is around 83,000 Naira (about 230 US dollars), and it's available in major smartphone outlets and online stores.
True FullView Display:
Because of the absence of the screen-notch or punch-hole, Huawei Y9 Prime has a true FullView Display of 6.59-inch size. The display also features an LTPS IPS-LCD panel, which is slightly better than the standard IPS-LCD panel, in terms of picture quality and power consumption.
Meanwhile, the new phone's display comes with a Full-HD+ (2340x1080) resolution and 19.5:9 screen aspect ratio. Because of the slightly increased screen size, but same resolution, the Huawei Y9 Prime display has a pixel density of 391ppi, which is slightly less than 396ppi of the Huawei Y9's screen.
Performance:
Processing power of the Y9 Prime is almost similar to that of the Y9, because, while the Huawei Y9 features Hisilicon kirin 710 chipset, on the other hand, the new Huawei Y9 Prime features slightly better Hisilicon kirin 710F chipset, which is also an Octa-Core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz. And for the new phone's GPU, Huawei returns the same Mali-G51 MP4, found on the previous phone. And for its Operating System (O.S.), the new Y9 Prime is running on the Android 9 Pie and Huawei's EMUI 9.0.1.
The new phone features 4GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB internal storage, also like the previous phone, Y9 Prime supports MicroSD Card. And, while the Y9 could support MicroSD card of up to 400GB, the new Y9 Prime internal storage can be expanded up to 512GB.
Front and Back cameras:
The three cameras on the back of the Huawei Y9 Prime are made up of 16MP Main sensor, 8MP Ultra-Wide-Angle sensor and 2-megapixel depth sensing lens.
These back cameras also come with a few pictures enhancements features such as Night-Mode which offers a more detailed and better contrast low-light shots.
The phone's motorized pop-up selfie camera features 16MP lens.
