Unlike its predecessors, the 2019 model of the Samsung Galaxy Note phone comes in two variants; the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
Although, both the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10 Plus might be the successors to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung equipped the bigger Galaxy Note 10 Plus with the specs that is expected of the latest Galaxy Note phone from the company.
Because, while the Galaxy Note 10 still shares a few basic specs with the previous Galaxy Note 9, the new Galaxy Note 10 Plus, on the other hand, offers bigger screen, higher RAM, higher battery capacity and it also has MicroSD Card slot (the feature that is missing in the new Galaxy Note 10).

Despite sharing basic specs with the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Note 10 presents the buyers with a more attractive design, improved screen quality, better processing power and triple rear camera. Nevertheless, the Galaxy Note 10 has no microSD Card slot, no 3.5mm audio jack, and despite having almost the same screen size with its predecessor, the new phone's display is equipped with a lower screen resolution.
Also, the new Galaxy Note 10 offers less battery capacity, compare to that of the previous Galaxy Note 9.
Meanwhile, Samsung equipped the new Galaxy Note S-Pen with all the attributes of the Galaxy Note 9 S-Pen, though with a few updates.
Galaxy Note 10 Unveiled Different Design:
Samsung made 6 changes to the new Galaxy Note phone and they are;
-Implementation of the recent HDR+10 certified Dynamic Amoled Infinity-O display.
-The traditional top bezel has been removed while the bottom bezel has also been reduced drastically.
- Triple Rear Camera that are vertically arranged.
-3.5mm audio jack has been removed.
-Unlike the Note 10 Plus, Note 10 doesn't have Hybrid SIM Tray, because it has no microSD card slot.
-Power button is no more on the right side, it's now placed on the left side of the new Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus, occupying the position of the Bixby.
The new Galaxy Note 10 comes with a 6.3-inch display, which also means that the phone has almost the same screen size as the earlier model. Still, unlike the previous Galaxy Note 9 that features 18.5:9 screen aspect ratio, Galaxy Note 10 features 19:9 Aspect ratio, which means that the new phone is a little narrower than its predecessor.
Apart from that, the entire display area of the Galaxy Note 10 appears more attractive as result of the new design concept; which was introduced in the recent Samsung Galaxy S10.
In other words, and despite retaining the same curved screen, nearly edge-to-edge design of the previous Galaxy Note 9, Samsung has completely removed the traditional top bezel in the new Galaxy Note 10, and the bottom bezel has also been reduced drastically.
Also, instead using notch (in place of the top bezel), like other smartphone makers, Samsung implemented punch-hole (a small cut-out hole) on the top of the phone's screen, which houses the phone's selfie camera, the concept that the company also introduced in the Galaxy S10. However, unlike the Galaxy S10 which has its punch-hole positioned at the top, right-side, of the screen, the punch-hole of the Galaxy Note 10 (and that of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus) is located at the top-centre of the screen, and the size of the punch-hole has also been reduced.
Meanwhile, Unlike the Galaxy Note 9 that's fitted with a dual rear camera, the Galaxy Note 10 features triple rear camera, and the three cameras are arranged vertically inside an enclosure. Next to the enclosure is the LED Flash.
Like the recent Galaxy S10, the new Galaxy Note 10 highly polished metal frame is placed in between the front and back Gorilla Glasses. There is no button on the right edge of the new Galaxy Note phone, because the Power Button has been moved to the left edge, occupying the previous position of the Bixby Button, which also implies that there's no Bixby Button again.
Still, the new phone's Power Button also serves as the Bixby Button, therefore, press the power button once to unlock your new phone, press it twice to open the camera, and you'll have to press and hold the Power button to launch the Bixby Virtual Assistant. Slightly above this newly positioned Power button is the Volume rocker.
The phone's SIM Tray is located on the top edge of the phone, while the S-Pen slot, USB Type-C and speaker grille are found on the bottom edge of the new Note. Also while the LTE model of the new Galaxy Note 10 supports Dual Nano SIM, 5G model of the new phone supports only single Nano SIM.
Weight, Price and Colours:
Compare to its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is flatter and lighter; because while the Galaxy Note 9 has a thickness of 8.8mm and weigh 201g, the Galaxy Note 10 has a thickness of 7.9mm and a weight of 168g.
Samsung also added the AKG headphones that features USB-C plug to the new Note phone. And when it comes to its water resistant rating, Galaxy Note 10 is IP68 Certified.
The Galaxy Note 10 comes in different colours of Aura Black, Aura Red, Aura Pink, Aura White and Aura Glow; which is a mixture of Blue and White colours.
The new Galaxy Note 10 price is around $949 in the U.S, £899 in the U.K, Rs 69,999 in India and 346,199 Naira (NG). And the price for the 5G model in the U.S is $1,299 and £1,099 in the U.K.
Processing Power:
As usual, the type of processor you have on your Galaxy Note phones depends on your region or location, therefore, for those in the U.S., their Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, which is found on the recent Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus. It's a 7nm Octa-Core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz. The Galaxy Note 10 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset also features Adreno 640, for its GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).
And for those in the U.K and other regions, their Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus feature the Samsung's latest Exynos 9825 CPU, also a 7nm processor with EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) technology, and it has a maximum clock speed of 2.73GHz. This latest Exynos 9825 chipset is reported to be faster than the Exynos 9820, found on the Galaxy S10, and the latest processor also promises to be more power effecient than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Exynos 9825 powered Samsung Note 10, also comes with the Mali-G76 MP12, for its GPU.
RAM, Storage and Software:
Unlike the Galaxy Note 9 that gives you two memory options, Galaxy Note 10 has no other RAM option apart from its 8GB of RAM (except for the 5G model which features 12GB of RAM). And both LTE and 5G models of the Galaxy Note 10 are equipped with the same internal storage capacity of 256GB, which can not be expanded because of the absence of the MicroSD card slot in the new phone. Concerning its O.S. (Operating System), Galaxy Note 10 is running on Android 9 (Pie) along with the Samsung One UI.
6.3-inch Dynamic Amoled Infinity-O Display has less resolution.
The 6.3-inch display of the Galaxy Note 10 features a small punch-hole (cut-out hole) on the top side of the screen, the concept that was introduced in the recent Galaxy S10, therefore, as a result of this changes and the implementation of the Dynamic Amoled panel (also introduced in the Galaxy S10), the Galaxy Note 10 display is now called the Dynamic Amoled Infinity-O Display, instead of the Super Amoled Infinity Display, in the previous Galaxy Note 9.
However, despite having almost the same screen size with the earlier models, Samsung equipped the latest Galaxy Note 10 6.3-inch display with a Full HD+ (2280x1080) resolution, which is lower than the Quad HD+ (2960x1440), found on the previous models' displays.
In other words, while the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note 9 (which share almost the same screen with Galaxy Note 10), have Pixel density of 521ppi and 516ppi respectfully, Galaxy Note 10 display has a low pixel density of 401ppi.
Obviously, and technically speaking, the prevous Galaxy Note 9 Screen will deliver a more sharper or detailed image than that of the Galaxy Note 10. Still, due to its higher brightness and better contrast, the HDR10+ Certified Dynamic Amoled Infinity-O display of the Galaxy Note 10 is reported to have a more vibrant pictures and lifelike colours than the Super Amoled Infinity display of the Galaxy Note 9 .
The Samsung Dynamic Amoled Infinity-O display also features Comfort Display technology, which reduces the screen blue light that causes eye fatigue for some people. Besides, compare to the QHD+, the FHD+ resolution will be easier on your new Galaxy Note 10 battery life.
And provided you prefer the higher pixel density that comes with the QHD+ resolution, you might want to go for the bigger Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
Ultrasonic Fingerprint reader and S-Pen:
Because of the absence of the traditional fingerprint reader on the back of the Galaxy Note 10, Samsung implemented the Ultrasonic In-display Fingerprint reader in the new phone, this type of In-display fingerprint reader was debut by the Samsung in its recent Galaxy S10, and it's reported to be highly responsive than the Optical In-display fingerprint reader, which is common among other recent phones.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 In-display fingerprint sensor can be located towards the bottom of the screen.
Meanwhile, compare to that of its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 10 S-Pen appear shorter and more round (same can be said of the new Galaxy Note 10 25W Charger). Apart from that, nothing has changed much, because, Samsung returns all the features of the previous Galaxy Note 9 S-Pen in the new Galaxy Note 10. For instance, the new S-Pen is also equipped with an highly sensitive, responsive but precise tip.
Also, as a result of its in-built Bluetooth Low Energy, the digital pen can also serve as a remote control (up to distance of 10 metres) for taking pictures, playing music, navigating your photo gallery and it can also be used to pause/play YouTube videos.
Still, there are few updates in the new S-Pen. For instance, the company claims that the latest S-Pen can last up to 10 hours, outside its slot, and you can also use the new S-Pen to switch between front and back camera. The new S-Pen can also be used to zoom in or zoom out your presentation. The S-Pen can be recharged by returning it back to its slot, which is located at the bottom edge of the new phone, close to the USB Type-C port, just like in the Galaxy Note 9.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Front and Back Cameras:
Unlike the Samsung Note 9 that has dual back camera, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 features
three, vertically arranged, rear cameras. And these triple back camera comprises of 16MP, 12MP and 12MP, in descending order.
The first 16-megapixel f/2.2 lens is the Ultra Wide Camera, which has ability to capture 123 degree of Filed-Of-View (FOV).
This is followed by the 12-megapixel Wide Angle Camera, and it's also the Main camera with a Dual Aperture (f/1.5 and f/2.4) lens, that automatically adjust the Dual or Variable Aperture to regulate the amount of light that enter the camera lens to produce a detailed and a natural looking picture, irrespective of the lighting condition of your surroundings.
And lastly, the third 12-megapixel f/2.1 lens is the Telephoto Camera, and it's for taking telephoto or portrait pictures. And like the recent Galaxy S10, both the Main lens and the Telephoto lens of the new phone also feature PDAF and OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer), to mention a few. Meanwhile, the 10-megapixel f/1.2 front facing camera of the Galaxy Note 10 is placed inside the screen punch-hole.
In short, both the front and the back cameras of the Galaxy Note 10 also feature most of the picture enhancements that came with the cameras of the recent Galaxy S10, for instance, there is Life Focus (for bokeh effect); which helps you to blur the background of your picture, in order to make the subject appear more pronounced. There is also Live Focus Video, the allows you to use the the same bokeh effect for your videos.
3500mAh Battery & 25W Charger:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is fitted with a non-removable 3500mAh battery, which is rather lower, compare to the 4000mAh battery that came with the Galaxy Note 9. However, considering the low FHD+ screen resolution of the Galaxy Note 10 and its energy efficient processing power, the new phone battery has a tendency to last long on a single charge.
Although, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 also supports 15W Charger (which came with its predecessor), the new phone and its bigger brother are equipped with a more faster 25W Charger. In addition to the 25W Charger, there is still an optional super fast 45W Charger, but it's only supported by the Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
Furthermore, Samsung returns its 15w wireless charging features called Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, to the Galaxy Note 10. There is also Wireless PowerShare, which was introduced in the recent Galaxy S10. Wireless PowerShare allows you to use the latest Galaxy Note 10 to charge another Qi-enabled device(s) such as Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Buds, by placing the backing of any of the Qi devices on the back of the new Galaxy Note 10.
