INFINIX SMART 3 (X5516B).
However, unlike its other 3 siblings (Smart 2, Smart 2 Pro & the latest Smart 3), Infinix Smart 3 Plus comes with a distinct design and a few different specs. In other words, instead of sharing looks and features with its siblings, Smart 3 Plus shares specs and design with the S4, which is another recently unveiled mid-range range phone from the lnfinix Mobility.

Meanwhile, in this write up, we try to examine the specs of the new Infinix Smart 3 (X5516B) and compare them to those of the last year's Smart 2 (X5515), this is because; except for their different Android (O.S.) versions and processing power, Infinix Smart 3 and Smart 2 specifications are identical in every aspect.
In fact, from the screen size to the internal storage capacity and battery life, almost all the specifications of the Infinix Smart 2, are found in the new Smart 3.
NOTE: The Infinix Smart 2, in this write up, is different from the Infinix Smart 2 HD which was released in the late last year.
Detailed Specifications of the Infinix Smart 3 and Infinix Smart 2.
Same 5.5-inch HD+ IPS Display:
Starting from their displays, Infinix returns the same 5.5-inch screen, of the Infinix Smart 2, to the new Smart 3, and the screen also features the same HD+ (1440x720) resolution and 18:9 screen aspect ratio; both of which enable the screen to have a pixel density of 292ppi.
Same RAM and Internal Storage Space.
Just like the Infinix Smart 2, Infinix Smart 3 also features 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space. The latest phone also support Micro SD card, up to 128GB.
Both features Mediatek chipset But
different processing powers and android versions:
Like i mentioned earlier, the major differences between the two phones are their processing powers and Android OS versions.
Though both phones feature Mediatek processors, however, while the Infinix Smart 2 features MediaTek MT6739 1.5GHz Quad-Core processor, Infinix Smart 3 on the other hand, comes with a better MediaTek M6761 2.0GHz Quad-Core processor.
Furthermore, Infinix Smart 3 is preloaded with the latest Android 9.0 Pie (Go Edition) along with the Infinix XOS 5.0 Cheetah UI. Whereas, Infinix Smart 2 features Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and Infinix XOS 3.0v.
Same front and back camera set-up:
Like the Infinix Smart 2, Infinix Smart 3 also comes with a single lens back camera and a single lens front camera. And the front and back cameras also feature the same number of megapixels like those of the Smart 2. In other words, the Infinix Smart 3 features a single lens 13MP back camera and a Single lens 8MP front camera.
Though both Infinix Smart 3 and Smart 2 have equal numbers of cameras and megapixels, yet, the Smart 3 cameras are powered by a more advanced image processing feature called AI (artificial intelligence)
Both feature 4G LTE and Face Unlock:
Besides its rear-mounted fingerprint reader, Infinix Smart 3 also features Face Unlock; for its security enhancements. It should be recalled that these two features above, also accompanied the Infinix Smart 2.
Also, the dual nano SIM of the new phone also supports 4G LTE.
Same battery capacity:
Just like that of the Smart 2, Infinix Smart 3 also features the same non-removable 3050mAh Li-Po battery. Though i was expecting the new phone to feature a slightly better 3500mAh battery.
Price and Colours
Like the Smart 2, Infinix Smart 3 is also available in different colours options of Blue, Black and Red, however, Smart 3 substitutes the fourth colour of the Smart 2, which is Gold, with another one called Aqua Purple.
With 26,500 Naira, Infinix Smart 3 is readily available in many phone markets, retail outlets and online stores across the country.
On the other hand, Infinix Smart 2 is gradually becoming unavailable, but!, you can still get it, in the market and online stores, with about 29,000 Naira, its old price.
